SPARTAN-501 "Jordan" Build

Finished all the templates, except the codpiece because that needs to be freehanded, but I want to finish the stomach and chest so I can size it properly. Working on my templates for my BR,and got some more materials on the way due some financial bonuses. The Materials Group apparently does look out for it's builders Happy Crafting!

On a different note... Planning some of the attachments ... I need to make my shin guards in 2 parts, because I can't have them fit properly AND get my foot through.. so I was thinking about making the back detachable..how do you guys do your shins?

I have seen some really good builds use elastic to pull the back of there shin armor into place, but can pull it out when taking it on and off. Mine? I kind of just point my food as much as a can and show it in there and hope my armor doesnt break. Is int comfortable? No... does it work? Maybe...

Thats what I have been doing... It's not fun. I want my armors to last haha any links to some of those builds?

Finished the middle of the Backplate.. and I am quite annoyed with the Halo MCC cause it doesn't have proper Halo 4 armor customisation... Which means I can't really test out color schemes...which in return leads to me wondering: does the colorscheme factor into deployment?
I was planning on going with dark grey base, dark red secondary and whit-ish accents....I am especially interested to know if the secondary colored details have to match their positions in game or if I can paint however I want as long as it looks true to what would be done in universe.

You can do whatever you want and people will appreciate it just the same, or even more than what is in the universe if you get creative. Deployment is just a fancy title to strive for to have your armor be a spitting image of the original source. You do not have to be deployed to go to a con or support the 405th. Any colors and paintjobs are up to you, and I trust you will do an amazing job :)

Thank you so much. I know I overthink everything.. but better to overthink than give something not enough thought.

Breastplate done,Jetpacks next.
from this point forward all parts will only be assembled and roughly sanded. When everything is done stuff will be sealed send it filled and also I will try out foam clay for filling in seams and places where I sanded away too much. Also the breastplate is taped together for the moment because attachments will be added at a later date.. also I can't really turn my head all that much when I'm wearing the helmet due to the helmet colliding with the very high parts of the chest plate any ideas or is it just normal that you can really turn your head in these suits?

Maybe pad the helmet a bit more so you can raise it a bit higher from the chest

I already have as much padding in the helmet as I can so that my chin doesn't poke out of the bottom I guess that's just the combination of the scout helmet and the mark 6 chest plate... the scout helmet in combination with the scout chestplate would not cause this problem

I finally finished the jet packs which were a lot more complicated than I thought and also finished the attachments. which basically consist of a phone dowel that is secured to the breastplate and the jetpack is then slid onto to said dowel. will also down the line add magnets to keep the jetpacks from rotating.. what part next?
