You may want to buy a bag of cookies, just to be on the safe side.

@ Spartan II: hey no problem there bud! And it does look great! I'm glad to see that my pics helped you out a lot. :)

@ Soulless: LOL hey, not mad at all... I got a real kick out of seeing that. :) Now I really do have to make my own seals. :p

Spartan, it's looking good! Can't wait to see more!

Thanks! As I'm a very artistic person, I'm also a very visual person. So, tracing out the details on the model really helps to give me a better idea of how it'll look. That, and tracing out those details on the piece also helps me to draw up the design templates that I'll be using for the styrene plant-ons.

I haven't gone back to this build in almost two weeks, what with having been working on those SPARTAN Laser schematics lately. Since the temperature's already getting colder, and I still can't afford to buy the resin/fiberglass I need to finish reinforcing the inside of the chest, I don't know if I'll be able to do so before I can't make full use of the garage (gf's car goes in there for the duration of the winter).

Even though the chest isn't entirely resined/fiberglassed, I may decide to just go ahead and add all of the styrene details anyway. Getting kinda excited to do that, lol.

A quick question regarding just how I should adhere the styrene layers to the outside of the armour, then.

I was thinking of simply using extra-strength Crazy Glue, but should I maybe use something stronger? Like two-part epoxy? Or do you guys think the Crazy Glue would be enough to hold it in place? :unsure

My only concern is whether or not the edges of each styrene piece adhered to the Pep model could pop up, if the Crazy Glue wouldn't be strong enough to keep it down against the armour (particularly along the curved surfaces) :unsure

Hmmm I worked with crazy glue before and I always ended up getting them on my fingers lmao

The epoxy may work but why not use hot glue?

It may be easier to work with.

Try all 3 :D

BOLD # 1: I've used Crazy Glue for enough prop projects over the years I've learned how not to get it all over my hands, lol.

BOLD # 2: The only thing with hot glue is its adhesive properties (I've seen friends use it, and after it dries they've been able to easily pull it off in one piece). So, I'm pretty sure it doesn't hold as well as Crazy Glue or epoxy would.

BOLD # 3: You're probably right. I should experiment with each to determine which one would hold it together best.

Lol i see

I've noticed pooper got a new avatar pic,

Whats up with this????

Well, he did just come back from DragonCon, which obviously would've involved a lot of pics taken of his new armour, lol. Understandably, he'd want to update his avatar. I mean, once I get my armour done (whenever that'll be, lol) I plan on doing the same :)

Lol we should of gone to DCon and bug the hell outta Pooper :p

I mean we do that on the forums.

JK Pooper :D

@ Spartan II: I'd say the crazy glue/super glue should work okay. You're already familiar with it and it should make things go a little bit more smoother. As for my return from D*Con and my new avatar, yep! I liked that pic so I thought I use it as my Avatar. Once my new suit is completely done, I'll have a new one.

@ Soulless: You don't like my new Avatar?! that hurts my feelings... JK :pand bug the hell out of me? lol bring it on! JK :pBut seriously, I wished a lot of you could of came. D*Con was a blast!

Waiting to see more progress Elvis :)

I'd say that next year for a 100% sure that I will go to D Con :D

Since I'll be out of high school and have a kick ass job

And hopefully, I have nothing planned

I'll definitely let you know by the end of my senior year

Thanks, buddy! That's what I was thinking, too. I've used it for a number of scratch-built props in the past using styrene as the main material, and have never had a problem with it keeping things together.

I was just concerned that given the contours of the chest armour that might pose some problems.

I've been wanting to go to DragonCon now for two years straight, and unfortunately real-life matters have kept coming up and been getting in the way of that. I really hope I'm able to make it out next time so I can meet you gents :)

I think we all should really try a lot harder to get our suits done and get to dragon con. By all I mean, Spartan ii, pooper, soullesssin, and me.
