As much as I wanted those files for my own build I honestly have to agree with you Starx.

It would really suck if I designed a car and someone else built it and brought it to life using my plans even as I was building it myself. They just built it faster etc

I'd rather watch this build as it goes along to see the pros and cons of having such an accurate armor also the progress as he does the strengthening of the parts.

keep up the good work

(also when this project in completed. You can guarantee it will be in the ELITE section.)

Thanks for understanding. Its just that ive put a TON of work in getting this thing ready and pepping it. I agree totally with what youre saying. And i definitely dont mind being the experiment in helping out when the files do make it out. That way whatever i do wrong or right can be used to help others when they tackle it.

Update - the first piece of the upper torso has been cut out and assembled. I also scaled the chest armro down just a tad in order to keep it looking more streamlined. It shouldn't be a tight fit at all if i sized everything right, and it should still keep up the accurate build after i apply the inserts that i have ready on the side for it. Heres a picture of the progress, and with that, its goodnight. Its two in the morning and im getting some sleep.

so i was thinking today i might go with a different part for the chest. Instead of doing the circle i might do the triangle arc reactor in the center. I think it would look a lot better and be a little more original..At this point this is just what i was thinking about doing, but i wanna know what you guys think about that. Should i go with my model and the mark three and make the circle arc reactor in the center or triangle?

You could go with the look of the Mark V, I remember seeing a picture of it with the triangular unibeam /arc reactor.

Well the whole point of this project is to be MOVIE accurate, right? If that's the case, I'd say you should stick with the circle.

I say do whatever makes you happy because no matter what you do it is going to be HOT!!! and you can always change the title of the thread.

Although I believe you should do what makes you happy, I feel you might regret stepping off your original path on this one. Technically everyone else who has made ironman armor, by not being entirely accurate, has made 'original' armor. Try hitting the mark and stick with your original game plan on this one. The next one can have three heads if you want. :)

I agree on keeping it circle since you want it to be movie accurate. It looks great though! I can't wait to see the finishd product!

Update - my printer is spitting out pages of the upper torso..guess tonight will be another long nighter. So far i have spent nearly every night working on this thing, and then stayed up til three in the morning getting it put together. How is that for determination? Although, i might have to take a detour in a bit in order to make my dummy so i can attach the pieces together on the dummy and give you guys a better picture of it. Instead of me finding little things in my room to mount them on...(im running out of stuff...)

SupermanExtreme1 - i used to work at Xpress lube. Its a place that changes oil and fixes minor damages on auto bumpers and body panels. We went through resin and bondo like crazy. But its been about 6 or 7 years since then. So it might be a little rough at first. But i wont be renewing my skills on this when it gets to it. I have some other pieces that i have posted pictures of previously (the same files you are working on) that i will be tackling in getting my game back on....

Make the dummy it will help in the long run. Did you understand my tutorial? I am working on putting a thread together with some pic's of the next one I do so let me know what you did or didn't understand. Keep me posted.
