Hey all! Figured I'd make a page for this build on here to help keep track of everything. I've recently gotten into Warhammer thanks to Space Marine 2. I was on the fence about it for awhile because of entry costs but once I played i was hooked. So much so that I've gotten a tattoo, 12 books, started my first army (dark angels), making a gaming table, and now building a suit. The armor I'm making is based on the Dark Angel Deathwing Knights. I'm using stilts to give me 15 inch of extra height which will be modified to walk better. There will be props, lights, voice modifiers, the works. This is my biggest protect yet and I'm excited to show it off!

Finally got my lion el johnson helmet and it's awesome! The wings are super heavy so either I'll screw them to the helmet permanently, or make foam versions for the helmet. If I go that route I'm thinking on adding the printed versions to this armor! I've found old term models with wings, just a different style. These wings would add 3ft of height.

Got the wooden platforms secured to the stilts! Just need to glue the boots together, add foam or rubber to the bottom and print out the shin/ thigh templates. Those will get done by the end of the month or even next week. More pics coming soon.

Finished the pauldrons. Adding details tomorrow, might go to lowes tonight to get pvc and build the mounts/ torso harness tonight. Still debating on extending my arms but I'll wait to see where they lay once the shoulders are mounted

Current WIP of my Deathwing Knight! Haven't done much as of late but I'm giving myself a deadline in September. Today I just added support foam on the inside of the torso to make it sturdier, I still need to add the chest symbol, Gothic collar with audio output speaker, add details to my towers, and find two decent braziers for the top which I'd like to have a fan to look like real fire. If not then candles work. Next step is add shoulder sleeves so I can mount them, along with details. Still working on the legs, but once those are done it's just small details for those. I'm excited to work on the shield and either the sword or mace

Armor looks well proportioned! I know space marine proportions are notoriously ambiguous. Curious how you're going to mount and reinforce everything.

Thanks! I still need to figure that out but my plan so far is to do it in a way that I can fix it while inside of the suit. The arms can be attached to the torso support so I can go hands free if need be. The abdomen and thighs will be together and wrapped around my shoulders with straps.

It's been a long time since I worked on this, but i have a local event next month and that's my deadline or I'm throwing this out. Got both arms cut out, just need to heat and glue together. This is what I have in store for the shield. Just a rough sketch, and the other wing Isn't added but it will be. The holes you see will be bullet impacts, i might add a few more. I'll have to carve them into the Reaper and wings once it's added but it gives me a point of reference. After the arms are done all that's left is the abdomen, then onto all the details. I'm not going to build the helmet just yet, I'm going to try and have someone design and print it for me with room for a baby monitor so I can see. And I still need to do the mace!

Forgot to update the legs and how tall the shield actually is. I cant believe i started this project a year ago! Not what i wanted at all but whatevs

Right paldron done! I have the pieces for the left cut out and ready to be glued. All that's really left is torso details, pvc hands, shield and mace.

I'm going to hit the deadline for sure! Been working on the torso vent details until I ran out of hot glue. Finishing that tomorrow as well as the abdomen. I need to lower the paldron supports and add the straps for the arms.
Another day is to fill in all the gaps, screw the feet to the wood, add final wings to chest, the an and leg undersuits, pcc hands, and add straps to hold the thighs in place.
Once all that is done then it's on to the weapons which i know i will not get done before the con. I know i won't be wearing this thing over the weekend but it will be ready for the next con for sure!
