Hey Everyone,

This is my first post, I first heard about Halo Armor being created by Nightmare Armor over a year ago. Since then I have been deployed to Iraq. I missed Halloween last year, and wanted to have a kick-ass costume for when I returned. Now I'm back I've been hunting around on ebay for armor. I am looking at several auctions some are the Rubies expensive armor set, which doesn't look half bad. I like the fact the helmet is uniform and a hard plastic.

I have not heard back from nightmare armor yet, nor can i find any online for sale, nor do I have time to have one designed and made for me.

a couple auctions contain Armor made by Westerfield Studios, one particular i'm interested in is in red. But how durable is the plastic? I also am not to thrilled at the detailing job done on those armors, they appear to be very flat. The molding seems ok, but would have much better depth if painted better.

Does anybody here own the New Rubies armor, have a suit for sale, or know of anybody that does. I'm a graphic designer by trade and own an independent film company now, so my attention to detail, and quality is extremely high.

Thanks for any input,
Aaron

The Rubies armor is reffered to as junk/garbage around here lol. Rob Westerfield is actually a Mod here and you can PM him for info on his armor.

Welcome to the 405th!

That would work, except he can't see the classifieds section as a new member.

...Or, you can always save a hell of a lot of money by concidering Pepakura to make your own Armor.
Visit the Creation Discussion > Pepakura Armor Section for more details. Read the stickied Threads on top of the Pepakura section for all the info you need.

You always have the Question and Answer Team at your disposal if you ever need tips and tricks. Just shoot one of us a question through a Private message. ;)

odds are you won't have a suit by halloween unless you buy a fully assembled one from the classifieds section, even if you order a full suit from Rob, odds of him being able to build it on time are low.. Good luck

Support the community, make your own or trade for your own.... We don't like rubies stuff.

Contact Richie! He has an amazing suit, and has been selling it around for a while, im pretty sure you could work something out. Even if you are not in the UK like he is.

Quick 405th lesson: Never consider Rubies armor. EVER.

It's nothing like the picture makes you think it is. Not even a real visor.

that having been said, pep is the best way to go, if you have a lot of time on your hands then it's possible you can finish it all before Haloween,

I ordered a helmet a year ago from Roob, and still havent gotten it. If its from ebay thats dif story.

Check the clasifieds.

Hey guys, here is a shot of the Rubies armor from a person i potentially will buy it from. Westerfield's armor look ok, but kind of flimsy. The detailing isn't that great. I know the rubies is mas produced and that the actual product doesn't look like the pics of it from the the con. But I still think it looks ok, actually i think it's better than the one used for the con.

I would just get gold lense tint to apply to the visor. Check out a pic of the actual production version below, then compare it to A Westerrfield armor I'm considering. Which the helmet had been modified by the owner to add 4 LEDs and a motorcycle visor. But the helmet doesn't look as good as the rubies in my opinion. Granted it's no Nightmare Armor, nor one of the custom made ones by any of you. But, i don't have the location, nor the tools to build my own suit, not to mention the time.

I can't look at the classifieds cause I'm new member. If anybody else has a suit for sale and is willing to show it to me here that would be cool.

Compare these Pics:

THAT IS NOT A RUBIES COSTUME, IN THE PIC YOU LINKED. IF SOMEONE SAID IT IS, YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED!

----------------------------------------------------------

How can you call the Rubies helmet better??
It's excactly why we hate the suit, it doesnt have a visor (just a see-through hole)
And the entire helmet is totally de-proportioned.

The helmet you posted in the pics, is not a costume helmet. It looks like a modded Legendary edition helmet.
And is horribly painted. (I could be wrong)

The pictures of rubies might look cool, but the quality of the costume is bad, your going to be lucky if it doesnt break before Halo-ween.

Rubies is bad. I suppose the one that costs $750 is ok, but you could get better.
The pic on the top that you linked is the $750 costume, but the plasma rifle isnt included, it is the Jasman one. I saw the costume in person, and it may look cool, but the acctual quality of the plastic isn't that great.

BTW; I HIGHLY reccomend the plasma rifle from the picture, I have one, the paint may not be perfect, but I love it as a collectable, and I admit that I play with it sometimes.
