The universe operates according to physical law. these laws don't change. Can you give me an example of something (that exists) that cannot be explained "scientifically"?

Please explain to me the Shroud of Turin.
Also, please explain to me evolution using facts.
Please explain to me how the universe started.

The only piece of the shroud ever tested was a corner, which happened to be burnt off and resewn with newer fabric while it was being moved to a new location, that is why carbon dating claims it is so new.

Then again I took a class on carbon dating and testing a brand new lava rock, the machine claimed it was like 6000 years old when it was only days old.

Species change over time. That is a fact. We can prove this with modern organisms through tracking of genetic lineages through kariotyping. It would also be impossible to domesticate and create different breeds of organisms if this was not the case.

The rock record shows a succession of less complex organisms (bacteria, then multicellular soft bodied, complex invertebrates, then Vertebrates) through time with clear development of characteristic features of one type of organism to another over time. This is a fact. There's a lot more I could list here but I won't bore you about it.

Again this goes back to people trying to argue faith vs. science. Science is based on what we can observe. It's not like it's just being made up, it means that everything we can find points to the conclusion we are supporting. If new evidence comes to light, the view shifts accordingly.

The first part of Genesis is so old it predates written Hebrew and was passed down as oral tradition. There were many different versions and the one in the Bible is a hybrid of several of them. You don't see the story of Lilith in there anymore do you?

That system is calibrated to use charcoal from plants or unalted bone material. Other stuff won't work right with the machine unless you take into account it's own specific carbon sequestering system.

Religious groups try to ban same sex relationships. Why? because its not enough for religious people to let their deity/idol dictate their own behavour, they want to dictate the behaviour of others as well.

It says in the bible that it is wrong and thats why we are against it. And dont try and say well just you dont do it. I was listening to a Christian radio station and there is a guy who is trying to take a polling place out of churches because he says its offensive because he has to walk by a cross. The reason its a polling place is because its easy accessible and has nothing to do with church. So if it offends him why doesn't he just vote and not step into the church again. But he decides to make a big deal of it and throws a fit.

Here is a story my youth pastor told me last year and thought it would give you guys a laugh.

A newspaper had a Sunday morning religion section that contained, among other things, letters to the editor about various religious issues. Most weeks these letters were pretty mundane, but one Sunday something was printed that became quite controversial.

A man wrote:

I quit going to church this year. I decided that listening to sermons week after week was a stupid thing to do. After all, I went to church for more than 40 years and during my lifetime I probably heard 5,000 sermons. I can only remember about five of them. What a waste of time.

—Bored and Busy

This sparked a fury of incoming letters. Some people wrote that sermons do make a difference, while others sided with Bored and Busy's opinion that they were basically meaningless and unnecessary. Finally, one letter was printed that ended the debate:

I quit eating this year. Thanks to Bored and Busy's insights, I decided that eating week after week was a stupid thing to do. After all, I have been eating for more than 40 years and during my lifetime I probably have eaten 5,000 meals. I can only remember about five of them. What a waste of time.

Something is for certain though. Something is going to have to put us Americans on our knees, if it's on December 21, 2012, then so be it, but it's going to happen. It is stated that the world will be connected through one currency, and that if you are to buy or trade anything during those seven years, you must bear the mark of the beast on the forehead, or the hand. Those who don't receive the mark, will be punished, put to death, or starved to death due to the fact that they can not buy any food.

FREAKY FACT

Visa is a credit card company. VISA can be translated. Roman Numerals Vl = 6, Greek S= 6, Latin A= 6. These may be mixed up. Visa Card Company is currently in production of a smart chip that cal be implanted in the palm of your head or your forehead. Soon when leaving a store you can swipe your hand to pay. No hassle, no theft of card, no problems right? A little further down the road you will be able to Simply exit the store with your goods and a monitor above the door will scan your head paying for your goods. If that is not the world nearing revelation then WHAT THE HELL IS?!?!?!?

to no offense to anyone here in their beliefs.
god is god, there is no doubt about that.
but why so many gods? this that and other? to me, i tried to find an explanation to this.
to those here, i am a buddist (theres an "H" in there somewhere, i just dont know where). we'll leave it at that.
many people believe in different gods, deities, spectres, and all those alike. we make a shrine to them, a holy place in which is dedicated to them. all of which, we do not really know who they are, we just know for a simple fact that they have divine power and a term for divinity. all gods that we believe in, want one thing: for us to be united, loved and to be aware of what we do, otherwise the word known as sin. and everybody sins. the christians state that Jesus died for all of us, to cleanse us all of our sins. (thats what i interpreted...correct me if im wrong.) Buddha however, was a different god. he was more like a philospher who went from india to reach enlightenment, therefore, becoming a god. these are the only two examples that i know. one that is what i believe in, and the other, what is widely believed in, in the entire world.

then, lets look at my theory.
if all gods have the same meaning; a term for divinity, for example, then look at each and everyone of the gods. they are there for a reason. to guide us, and to show us the difference between this and that, right and wrong, good and bad, respect and disrespect. but, they also have differences, such as christians and their holy bible, while buddism has something different. although these gods are there, they are there for a reason, to guide us from different ethnicities and races.
take it a bit further.
all gods are gods. but take the theory above and apply it to every one of us. (not meant to be racist by this comment.) we are blacks, whites, browns, indians, asians, and everything else that i havent mentioned. and most of us all worship a god. some may worship the same, some may not. however, clearly there is more than one god in our midst, so should there be something of a higher rank than our god?
i believe so. a god that we believe in is just another god. but the almighty god that sent us guidance via these gods, i believe exists.
this almighty god, (lets call it, Adun), made all of us. and from two to 2 million, he began to think that it is getting difficult to manage all of us. so he selected the leaders of each race. those leaders became a lesser god, followed by them, deities and spectres. which works like a heiarchy. (a triangle, which we are at the bottom, and the almighty god, Adun, at the very tip)
he gives these 'lesser gods' power granted by him, to guide their people, (ie. those who worship them) in their way of thinking.

this should explain what some people think, that all gods are the same, just with different ways of interpretting him/her.
anyways, this is my own opinion. dont hate me for what i have said.

I think it is funny that the rock layers in the Alps shows the evolution time table upside down. The "oldest" fossiles are near the serface, while the "newest" fossils of 'evolved creatures' are at the base. I'll have to find the link I read that in. Okay, lets talk about the the human reproductive system.

The human female like other mammals has XX sex chromosomes, and the male has XY sex chromosomes. The female egg contains the X-chromosome and the male sperm contains either an X-chromosome for the reproduction of a female or a Y-chromosome for the reproduction of a male. The female eggs all develop within the ovaries while she is a baby (fetus) within her mother's womb. Evolutionists claim environmental factors cause small changes in the offspring in the evolutionary chain. However, the environmental experience of the female cannot change the chromosomes within her eggs and cannot have any effect upon her offspring. Her body cannot go into the eggs, contained within her ovaries at her birth, to make an intelligent genetic change. Females cannot be a part of the evolutionary theory for these reasons.
The male sperm are created very differently from the female egg. The sperm are created in the prostate of a male on a daily basis. This short time period between the creation of the sperm and conception within the female precludes any possibility that the male can be a part of the evolutionary theory. A harsh winter, or some other environmental condition, experienced by the male is quickly lost and cannot affect conception that may occur months later. Neither is there any scientific evidence that environmental experiences change the genetic code within the sperm. Males cannot be a part of the evolutionary theory for these reasons. These scientific facts prove evolution of the human species caused by environmental adaptation or any other reason is impossible.

DNA sound good?

The scientific fact that DNA replication, including a built-in error checking method and a DNA repair process, proves the evolutionary theory is wrong. The fact is, any attempt by the DNA to change is stopped and reversed.
"Replication also contains built-in error checking. The frequency of errors is about 1 per 100 million bonds (1 x 10-8). Over the entire human genome, that works out to roughly 30 errors every single time the genome replicates. BUT! There are really only around three errors per replication because of DNA repair. If a repair enzyme finds a mistake, it can fix it, and it can tell which strand is wrong because it can tell which strand is the newly synthesized strand by at the extent of cytosine methylation. As DNAs exist in cells, many of the cytosines have a methyl group added to them by enzymes called methylases. A new DNA will have relatively few methylated cytosines because it has not been around long enough to have picked up that many methyl groups."

"Without DNA repair there can be some major problems. Xeroderma pigmentosum is a serious ailment caused by mutations in the gene for DNA repair. People with xp develop many skin tumors and other problems because of the number of errors in their DNA."
Mutations, DNA replication errors, are the result of DNA that is replicated with damage that passes on to the offspring. Mutations are very rare because of DNA checking and repair. However, one in every ten million duplications of a DNA molecule can result in a mutation (error). The mutation changes are random, unpredictable errors that cause crippling diseases, loss of function and the destruction of the host person or animal. Mutations destroy the species. They do not improve the species. Mutations never lead to a new species as falsely claimed by evolutionists.

How about some Thermodynamics?

"The second law of thermodynamics proves that organization cannot flow from chaos. Complex live organisms cannot rearrange themselves into an organism of a higher form as claimed by evolutionists. This is scientifically backwards according to the second law of thermodynamics, which has never been proven wrong. Scientists cannot have it both ways. The second law of thermodynamics is proven to be correct. Evolution lacks any scientific proof. The Theory of Evolution is contrary to proven scientific truth.

The universe is slowing down to a lower state, not higher. The genes of plants, insects, animals and humans are continually becoming defective, not improving. Species are becoming extinct, not evolving. Order will always move naturally toward disorder or chaos, unless changed by an intelligent being.

Quoting from the book, Evolution and Human Destiny, by Kohler, "One of the most fundamental maxims of the physical sciences is the trend toward greater randomness - the fact that, on the average, things will get into disorder rather than into order, if left to themselves. This is essentially the statement that is embodied in the Second Law of Thermodynamics." This scientific law actually refutes and contradicts the theory of evolution in its entirety. The whole universe is not getting better and more specialized. It is running down. It is wearing out as predicted by the Second Law of Thermodynamics."

Genetics float your boat?

"There is no scientific evidence that a species can change the number of chromosomes within the DNA. The chromosome count within each species is fixed. This is the reason a male from one species cannot mate successfully with a female of another species. Man could not evolve from a monkey. Each species is locked into its chromosome count that cannot be changed. If an animal developed an extra chromosome or lost a chromosome because of some deformity, it could not successfully mate. The defect could not be passed along to the next generation. Evolving a new species is scientifically impossible. Evolutionists prove that getting a college education does not impart wisdom.

When your dog is going to have a litter, don't worry that she will have a litter of monkeys or cats. She will always have a litter of puppies. The fact that she will have puppies was determined when her chromosomes joined with her mate's chromosomes at conception. You see, a dog has only 22 chromosomes, whereas a monkey has 54 and cats have 38. Half if the total number of chromosomes are contained in the female reproductive cells and half are contained in the male, so the exact total number is brought together in the offspring.

Humans have 46 chromosomes. This chromosome count is a steady factor. This determines what is called the "fixity of species" because the chromosome count doesn't vary. People always give birth to people. Dogs always give birth to dogs, etc. The genes can produce variety within the species, but cannot result in a different species. Genes allow for people to be short, tall, fat, thin, blond, brunette, etc., but they are still all human beings. The chromosomes make crossing of the species an un-crossable barrier. This certainly would hinder any evolution. Dogs cannot breed with cats. This fact stops evolution dead in its tracks.

Sometimes two species are close enough to crossbreed, but the offspring are usually sterile. This is the case when horses and donkeys crossbreed. A male donkey (jackass) and a female horse (mare) will produce a mule. Farmers often preferred mules as a work animal prior to the development of the farm tractor. A hinny is the offspring of a female donkey (jenny) and a male horse (stallion). The hinny and mule usually cannot produce offspring. These animal show that evolution is not possible."

Also, I was reading something in the news paper. Some scientist found FOUR bones that were fossilized. Now get this, they gave the full specs of the creature, even though they only had FOUR bones. They didn't even have a tooth. That's just silly.

You know, evolution takes more faith than it takes me to believe in my Lord!

At first I was going to applaud you for actually thinking it through, 'till I remembered that humans have 64 chromosomes, and noticed quite a few things wrong with what you said...

About the bones
Think about what you can learn from them.
How far where they scattered apart, and the amount of pollen and type shows what season or year it was.
Any breaks in the bones or bludgons show any trauma
Shape and size show what animal
Shape and size what use compared to human bodies.
Just think, there is alot you can learn from "a few bones"

Mule and hinny is once again, not completely true. While they cannot breed, evolution cannot go about like that, you dont have a chicken and a ostrich go together, you see two chickens go together untill slight changes until a mutation occurs.

The DNA checker is true...But mutation isnt bad. If the ressecive (However spelt) mixes with the other pair of genes, it can cause a new combination. Not a mutation of something to be removed, just a change. Plus even if that was true, its impossible to catch every single change. It takes only one animal gene to slip up to change.

Just think about it.

God I need to get my head checked...

Funny evolution conversation with Pastor Kent Hovind and an Atheist:

Atheist: You're telling me that every type of dog, chihuahuas, dobermans, pomeranians, all came from two dogs on an arc?

Pastor Hovind: Let me tell you what you think (because sometimes you have to remind thm) You think every type of dog, animal, human, and even plant for that matter came from two random particles colliding in space.

P.s. Kent Hovind is offering 250,000 to whoever can prove evolution. Get to work atheists... :cautious:

So, on your death bed, you feel your heart (you mean God entering it), are you goig to think "well im glad im an atheist and when im dead thats it. Worms will eat my brains for hundreds of years!" Wow that sounds great. Have faith and think " Well im glad im a christian and when i die i will rise into heaven and live in perfect harmony with god and his children for all of eternity" Wow that sounds perfect and if for some reason its not true whats the worse that could happen? Have faith, believe in the one true god, accept your benefits.

aww and you either go to heaven if your a perfect person and live happily for ever and ever and ever and ever, or if you've made a few mistakes in your life and have forgotten to repent for them, you go to a place where you live in eternal fire and pain for ever and ever and ever.

oh, and if i get there and im wrong, ill just repent and it will all be peachy.

you have just summed up the muslim belief. In Christianity aslong as you believe God is the one true savior you do not have to repent over and over. Jesus died so that none of your sins will be held against you. Ever wonder why people love him so much?
