I'm having a hard time scaling my chest piece. Everything else has come along great thanks to Xtreme Tactics 101's tutorail on scaling, but the chest pieces seems to come out either too big or to small. I'm 5'9'', and I was wondering what size other people's chest plates are.

use a tape measure and write down how tall u want it and convert it to MM and u should have the right size u need for ur height.

Define weird in this context. Have a pic?

I don't have a pic (don't own a camera). But when I use a tape measure, it usually comes out too small, which I found odd. So I add a few more cm, and it comes out too large, and I don't like wasting paper. I just need a generalization as to how many people use a certain scale.

For my new Tarkov Chest Plate, I used the width of 360mm and it fits like a dream. I'm 5'11" tall though, so I don't know if the chest plate at that size would fit you.

If you would like, you can contact me via MSN or Skype for help. I'm always glad to help a member in need.

Good luck!

I guess it depends on which pep your using. I made a new ODST Chest Plate pep myself (its in my sign if your interested) and I used the hight to scale mine. This was because I made it a bit curved so scaling it by width wouldn't work. I would see if you could contact the modeler of the one your using and ask him or her the best way to scale it. Hope that helps.

P.S. My ODST HD Chest Plate only uses 4 pages and its super simple to make.

I've pepped your SD Model, and I must say, it's very accurate. I think I'll try your HD model.

Cool and thanks. As for the scale I used this picture to give me an idea of how tall it should be when compared to the rest of the body. And it worked out great for me. What sizes have you used so far?

There are several different scaling tutorials in that same thread, perhaps you would have better luck with one of those, rather than the main one?

It's okay now. I've printed another with a height of 19cm. So far so good.

I did a height of 16, and 22. The 16 being an old fashion tape measure measurement. 22 being the hight from one of XT101 scaling methods

Sorry I don't think I explained it well in my last post.

I actually measured MYSELF with a tape ruler. Saw about how tall I wanted the plate to be and only used the pic for reference as to how far down your chest the plate should be.

I measured from about half an inch below the lowest point in my collar bone to about half an inch below my sternum/pecks. This seams to give me enough room for the shoulder straps to look right up top and enough room below for the stomach plates. I am 5ft 11in and 20cm height worked out great for me.

So before you start peping I would measure yourself or cut out a rectangle 19cm tall and check that on your body to see if it will work for you. Good luck.
