Where do I find the blueprints?

There are no actual blueprints, as such. This will get you pointed in the right direction for the pep files http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/26285-All-in-One-Halo-Pepakura-Pack .

You won't be able to read the files unless you have downloaded the Pepakura program.

Those two are the very first steps in getting your practical stuff started. However, you need to get a drink, and maybe a snack or two, and block out a huge chunk of time to read the stickies. There are a lot of written tutorials that the experienced people have put up for everyone to see. Some of the tutorials are video, too, so you can better see what they're talking about. I took the time to go through them and believe me it is a lot of information, but well worth it.

Hi and welcome to the 405th. There is a lot more to do than just getting the "blue prints". There is a lot of information on the 405th forums to help you out, but I'd suggest you start by:

Finally, there is no doubt you will still have questions. However, if you are serious about completing a costume, please consider joining the mentoring program. Here, experienced builders will be happy to provide one to one help with your build (Note that they will expect you to have studied the information in the
links provided above):

Again welcome to the 405th!

Thanks for the replies!!!

I never expected replies.so fast!! thanks. I am going to give it a try, and may be crying out for help. My goal, at this point, is to make the helmet. I have a motorcycle helmet that I dont use.. If it looked cook, like the HALO helmet, I might actually wear it.

Now while that would be a really awesome project, you have to remember that what we make should in no way be considered actual safety-ware... A motorcycle helm is A LOT stronger and more durable than A few layers of Fiberglass, and You should never wear your suit on a motorcycle or as protection in paintball or airsoft matches... They just don't hold up and you could seriously injur yourself. That said, I'm not telling you not to try and convert an old helmate into something cool... Just reminding you to practice caution and stay safe.

Welcome to the 405th! :)

I do not intend to cut up the helmet, but, to use it as the "core" and modify its appearance by adding the pieces to its outside. Just dont know if i can do it or not.

ok, that in itself shouldnt be too big a challenge... just scale the MC helm slightly larger than the motorcycle helm and you should be fine

That video is where I got the idea to mod my bike helmet into a HALO MC helmet. I have watched it quite a few times. Partly to see the making instructions over and over, and partly because the girl in the video is quite lovely!!!

Most people get here, make an account and ask questions about how to do it. Then they hear about the stickies in the noob forum, lol. This is normal. At least you didnt demand help, info or for anyone to sell you things, lol

Welcome to the 405th!

PS - If Im not mistaken, and I bet Im not.... the girl in that video is SkullCandyGirl.

Well now that you found out, we wanna see a W.I.P. thread, no matter what question you have about a build, someone here can answer it. Thats what I love about 405th.

I will post work in progress as I make some.. still trying to figure out the scaning.. to make it fit around the outside of an existing helmet. And, yes, i saw the tutorial on scaling. But I am not scaning to my head, I am scaling to a helmet. I giess I have to print the 16 pages of stock, build it, then decide how much to scale from that size to endup with the correct size to fit on the helmet. However, any of you that have experience in this want to offer a few bits of knowledge.. I would appreciate it.

You need to figure out how big the donor helmet is. You can use calipers to measure it. Here's a tutorial (of sorts) showing how to make your own.

You need to install Pepakura Designer. Emphasis lies on "install" and "Designer". Pepakura Viewer lacks a couple of essential functions you will need.

Also, please pick one of the Help! threads in the Noob Forum for questions like this. You revived a really old thread for your question. This is called "necro posting", you'll find something about it in the rules.
