Everything is looking good that you've been able to do. I was getting a little worried about you being gone. Glad to see you're back.

I may need you to tell me how to mod the dimensions like you did. I've got a thigh and /or helmet file that I might have to do something like that to so that it won't require a ton of cutting and adding or subtracting to fit right. I don't have Maya though, because I can't afford a $3,000 program. Then again, I really know nothing about 3D modeling. . . . . . . LOL!

thanks alot. glad to know i was missed, lol. ive just been extremely busy lately.

ive been in college for a year now and thats what im there to learn. how to make video games. one of the things we learn is how to 3d model. its the same program they used for mass effect, halo, and literally thousands of other games and movies. its one of the things im doing great at. we get the program free while we're in college and we get it discounted after we graduate, gota love perks, lol. one of the things i learned is that its 25.4 mm to 1 inch. once i knew that i measured my thigh and calf so i knew how tall and wide it needed to be. i guess the original didnt help to much considering i have large muscly thighs. as for some of my pieces, i modeled my thigh and calf dimensions into maya and formed the armor around it. i also wanted to keep them simple because most of the details are tiny and would be over shadowed by rondo.

I like the fact that your sizing of your armor is really great. Also the pepping is really clean awesome job.

thanks. i put some time into getting them a perfect fit for my body

today im going to pepping out my forearms and the hand plates. now since i didnt want to deal all the little pieces of pepping out the hand plate im actually going to make a mold out of modeling clay and fill it with rondo that way i can get all the tiny details and a solid piece. i should have pics up later today or tomorrow.

just added more details on my AR

picture update.

thanks. yea, i was rather annoyed with that but then i just took it into maya and fixed it. i wish i did that before i finished it, lol. ive always liked the CQB helmet back since H3. i originally wanted to make the grenadier helmet but im on a time limit so i needed something cool and simpler to make,

i have like 10 new pictures but photobucket is taking so long to upload.

i thing photobucket heard me complaining cause these just finished uploading

slush cast the inside of the knee caps. since i like the sharp edges im just going to paint the cardstock.

i got my visor but it came to me scratched. what do you expect from a 12 dollar visor. i decided to rush ahead and finish my helmet before anything else. plus i panted the knees. i knew it would only take a few minutes.

i know there some dents that werent filled in with bondo but i took care to get rid of the major ones. im just running out of time and i can fix it after the con. theres also some paint spots missing. that happened when i took the tape off. im touching it up with a paint brush.

That helmet looks spiffy! Great work with the bondo/rondo. Do you have any tacky or setting problems in that climate?

spiffy = awesome

lol. thanks. sometimes it gets humid from the quick drizzles or rain which is annoying cause it warps the pepped piece. all in all though its great. it was rather sunny all week. drizzles lasted only a minute and no humidity. some of the pieces i had to let sit out over night had some tack but that didnt last once the sun came out.

i got my buckles, visor, and morphsuit. the visor i got came to me scratched up and had a blurry spot in it making it difficult to see through. when i got my morphsuit i had a busted zipper on it and a hole. the good news about that was they messed up and sent me 2 suits when i paid for 1. luck for me. still waiting for my webbing. they said i should get it in 5-20 days. is been like 16 days so far. their cutting it close for me.

sorry for no real upates. finals just finished a few days ago and now we have this hurricane/tropical storm coming in down here here in florida. soon as it passes and no rain, i can get right back to finishing my suit.

just one of my projects for class. modeling a proportionally correct human body.

theres a funny story behind this. i got into an arguement with one of my art teachers. he kept saying that even though im at this school to learn how to model and animate, that i still need to be able to drawn a real life person. now im good at drawing but more comic book style, not real life. he said unless i learn to do that i will never be able to model a proper human. i told him i could without being able to draw real life people. so he challenged me with the typical "prove it then" line. so i did. after 10 hours or so of fine detailing i showed him this. he shut up. lol. the funny part is i made this a month ago and i literally just started my 2nd modeling class where we learn to do this. id like to say im ahead of the others.

Yeah, storms kinda ruin things a bit. Here in Darwin, Australia, we are just on the verge of our wet season. And it gets real muggy and moist. I need to start the resin coats on my chest piece soon. Gotta finish my chest piece first though rofl. Where you cut your chest piece down to fit better, I've seen a few threads do that and put in straps and clips there for easy removal. Good luck. I'll be lurking around somewhere....

well the first chest was warped with the humidity. but this time around i took it into maya so it fit my torso a bit better. i left the shoulders intact but i cut out about 3-4 inches of the side so it fits a bit more snugly.

so i live in south florida right. well not these past few days. its in the 60's constantly and resin doesnt cure propperly in weather under 70 degrees. just another thing that keeps setting me back. and i was hoping to have my armor finished by my birthday, which is today.
