Thanks! Now I just need to come up with something for the back piece. I also plan on putting an imperial Aquila on the bottom to fill in that blank space.

In other news I got the right shin and thigh glassed up last night so all I seriously have left to do for this armor is bondo those two pieces sand them and detail them. That and the back cloth are all I have left to do!

Ok guys, didnt get too much done with the armor this weekend, I have been EXTREMELY busy, and the bad part is its not gonna let up until after memorial day it looks like. : (
BUT what I did manage to get done I feel to be a achievement/milestone for me.
I have finished glassing/bondoing the armor and just tonight got done sanding the right shin and thigh!
I still have some spot filling to do and some touch up work but for the most part I am gonna say they are done and ready for the painting/detailing stage.
have a look at what I have done so far and what I have left to do.

The cool thing I like about this pic is it looks like someone is in the armor and just chilling out kinda

The back cloth is not finished yet, gotta paint the skulls gold still and die the cloth. Then I have to weather/battle damage up both the front and the back cloth still.

Well until I get the shots you really wanna see I did take some photos of some of the finished individual pieces earlier

Finished backpack, the skull is hand sculpted. I had someone say the backpack needs more but Idk, I am open to suggestions though

Just wondering.. What's it like walking in that armor? Do you wear lifts in those boots? What kind of lift do you get... and how do you see where you're going? I read about another Ultramarine who hooked up a small LCD screen to a pipe camera that was *ehem* anatomically correct so he could see where he was going.

Well I scaled each piece of armor to fit me so walking is much like walking regular. I didn't go full scale for the marine so my eyes look out the helmet eyes. I do have some lift in the boots but its mainly achieves from the sole/insole padding and rubber I used for traction with the boots. Its really not that hard at all, when I do my shoot tomorrow ill do a video too to demonstrate

Woops Sorry too many pics for one post

yes I know in some of the shots my arm was showing under the shoulder, this was just a test shoot to see how it all worked together. That and it was like 100 degrees out today, I sweat like a gallon and a half. The other great thing is the lenses didnt fog up the entire time

OMG that is fricking awesome dude!!!! I love it!!! Guess I should finish my terminator armour then? :p

I'm not really into WH40K but just wanted to say this is a cool build...I've been looking in on this from time to time and you've made some great progress especially over the last couple of months.

I really dig those segmented gloves. I like the backpack as it is but maybe if you added some more gold trim around the edges it might give it that little extra something (I don't know how off-cannon something like that would be). The weapon seems a bit small but that may just be me thinking a big armor deserves a big weapon to compliment it (love those chain-saw swords). I like the helmet but I'm not a huge fan of the white color. It seems like it's primed and awaiting final paint since it's white and doesn't match the rest of the armor. That said, I haven't attended Warhammer school and am probably ignorant of the significance...just an outsider's observation. Looks good none-the-less.

Glad to see this build is coming together and am looking forward to see you finish. Great job.

I am going to start working on bigger weapons soon this one looks small cuz its just a pistol by comparison to the rifle. And the helmet is white since it represents veteran or captain status. Thanks so much satchmo for all the kind words.

The vents on the bottom and top of the backpack might look pretty good too, but before you do anything permanent, you could cut black paper as templates for how it might look. There's even a few different patterns you could try. As it stands, without the top/bottom vents it really does look off...

Awesome build! Really good scaling on this one, and very cool details. Also, nice choice going with the Mk 8 chest - don't see a lot of those around.
