Thanks link, i really dont know how much else i can squeeze in with this bit of resin, but i have enough mat to go around, maybe even a chest, i dont know. I do have the other quart and sheet of mat, but no more cash. God, i didnt have enough for a proper respirator. Good thing im workin outdoors 
This helmet may look smooth, but its gonna need an intimate session with my friend mr. sandpaper and mr. bondo, because they like to party
Anyway, weather looks good tomorrow, so Bondo is on. Unfortunatley, i still dont really know how to put details in, i mean, do i cut them out while the bondo is drying? or put on an extra layer?

Double posting aside, i have finished Bondo-ing my CQB helmet today, i dont have any spot putty, but i need to get it and a dremel to cut the extra fiberglass and smooth it up. I know i didnt put any details in, I actually dont plan to unless they are absolutley necessary, and i havent found a good way to put them in yet. The ridges on the top were put there by me, and that wasnt easy to do. They still look like crap.
I had better pictures of me working on this, but stupid brother forgot to put in the memory card. You may not be able to see it from the pictures, but that thing is covered with bumps, gaps and other stuff that the spot putty can fix in a minute.
Now, From here, i dont know what to do. Honestly. Im lost. What did everyone else do after bondo/smoothing?

Keep sanding it til there aren't those indents on it... make it completely smooth til you are happy with it... they you can get ready to paint...

Nah. Spot putty doesn't work on holes and gouges that are as deep as the ones on the helmet. The helmet needs to be sanded down even more before putty can be even considered.Shade said:

Yeah...Ral is right!! By any chance do you have a small sander...I used sandpaper to do my CQB first but after alot of sanding I just went out and bought a Black & Decker "Mouse". I noticed that the Walmart by my house actually sold 60 grit sandpaper for the mouse so I got all excited and bought about 5 packs with my sander. To be honest 60 grit cuts alot faster, but you do have to control the mouse really good or you will cut to the paper in seconds. It also comes with alot of attachments and for $40 its a good deal!
Now to achieve the details that I have added to mine...yes I did smooth out the whole thing because I wanted a flat layer as my base so the indentations as Mac pointed out was made "Exactly" how FS did for his Sigma Helmet. I just made a template out of cardboard and actually used double sided tape to hold the template down. From there I placed a very thick layer of Bondo on to the edges of the template...I tried not to cover the whole template because if you do, you will not be able to leave a clean edge when you pull the template out. After I placed the Bondo, I waited till the Bondo got a bit hard then peeled away the temp...you might need a knife (As how Spase said while he worked on his MK VI) or something sharp to help make the edge.

And i will sand the crap out of those gouges, but bondo really hated me yesterday, so i have to tame teh beast :wicked:

Actually its not too great of an update, i have had plenty of obstacles and legitimate excuses in my way, i still do, but today i wanted to keep my CQB project going, so i sanded some more and sharpie'd some details im going to put on in due time......but before that happens i need to go buy spot putty, and that aint happenin any time soon. I am getting ready to also fiberglass my MK VI helmet and torso, gotta get that done, and hopefully i will redo the leg parts, because im not completely satisfied with them.
tl;dr, here are the pictures.
I need criticism, its the only way i can do a good job. Im not helpless, though.
I do have one quick question for those who did complete this helmet- what did you use for the knobby things up top? Im looking for household items, but anything will do.
