I'm actually more interested in the material.. it looks like wood, but it's a huge piece, and it looks like it's the same consistency all the way through.. maybe some kind of foam or light plastic? Expanded/"fluffed" polystyrene sans dyes?

I know I'm going to be looking for something better than stacked 3/4" MDF eventually..

It's tooling board. Kinda a super dense foam.... feels, looks like wood but no grain to speak of. And very expensive.
