Hi Everyone.
I am using my husband's member name to post up... I am Erin... not Greg.
Been floating around for a bit and I thought I should post my Cortana (Halo 3 Version) costume build for you guys to check out. I just finished it last month so I could wear it to a local comic book and collectible convention.
My bodysuit was commissioned by a lady that makes dance costumes... I wanted it to fit perfect and it did. I chose the fabric that she used to make the suit. My friend (who is an artist) did a chalk drawing of the designs on the suit while I wore it and then went over the chalk lines with a blue marker. The marker lines were a very simple outline of the design, so I that could go in a paint all the small line details, dots and curves. I used a high end fabric paint from a company named Pebeo. I used two mixed colours for the dark blue base and a light blue shimmer and silver for the "binary" details and layering to give the suit the illusion of "movement".
The painting took about 2 months on and off. I bought the wig and cut it to the correct hair style and hand strung the beads and sewed them into the wig.
Here are the pics!
Back of the Body suit... starting the silver details.
Suit before the silver and light blue details.
Arm detailing finished
