I gotta be honest...I liked the original design by Adam a lot better with the silver ring and the 3 blue hexagons. Just my 2 cents....

That's IT - totally diggin' it! Maybe just CG/standardize the laurel leaf wreath and that's the best I've seen so far - simple, clear, classy, and professional...

It will fit on a round patch and if you lose the wreath and the text, it will look perfect on a shoulder pauldren. That way there will be e "field identifier logo" and a "formal logo" - neat!

just on the note of phrases for the patches/banners ive got a copy of Sun Tzu's book 'the art of war' and theres hundrets of brilliant and reevent phrases in it including "If you want peace, prepare for war" (I'm not sure if he came up with the phrase thoe) and "Seizing the enemy without fighting is the most skillful" (i like that idea). ill have a quick flick through it to see if i can find a few more possible phrases we might be able to use.

EDIT: loving the patches n banners bdw.

Ok, got it compressed now. It went from 71MB down to 6.4MB. Sorry for the graininess, but the quality was much better before it was compressed.

This is more related to Adam's Original Logo than the banner, so sorry for taking up space, but I thought the people that pay attention to this thread could tell me what they think of this...

3D Logo Idea

It's still in the early stages of being completely finished, but I thought I'd get a consensus before proceeded further with my ideas. This is more an idea for a splash page or main page animation intro. Ideas, suggestions, changes, and serious opinions are welcome.

BTW, thanks for changing the last word on me, haha. That's an easy fix though.

-Magnum

PS:
Adam - Like the new wording, but the honeycomb look in the hexagons is too much, I think. I believe it will look better without that pattern.
Doc - Like the new banner idea. Simple, but with enough content to not be too simple.
@Squirl - ;) I'm pretty sure if that saying was in "The Art of War" it was probably written there first. That book was written in the 6th century.

simple and easy. Plus working on one with alot more to it now, with the help of SC.
Drop the gears on the logos (to 501) and thats it. I like it. Get the point across.

Will fix later today, I will edit this post this updated pic and info, PS do we want a carrying banner for the parade?

Yes Tub at the top for a 2" poll We may need the C cut out for the wind. 2X8 is good.

What is the cost on this. And can we set up a Pay Pal post to get you some $ back

Adam,

Here is your creation in vector for printing.

Download .AI (1.17mb).

Raster Preview:

(I did a color flip since cool colors recede, it can be easily swapped).

Might this be a happy medium?

And Rob if there like this or simple I will cut for free. If you still need I can pm you pricing.

vexona is a graphics design queen... Affirmative action on the 405th staff? Perhaps it's necessary :D

The helmet you have there is what the whole new logo idea is trying to accomplish, to distance ourselves from any directly related Halo copyrighted material so legal action can not be taken against the organization. It may not have been stated, but thats why the new logo is lacking any direct Halo symbols and images..

As to what Sapse said the LOGO in wich is being constructed shall not have a halo related design, thus all design work is still possible?

This is so M$ may not get upset, and so that we might branch out to further armors and costuming.

That better?

Yep, definately liking the look of that one. Although, I have to say the one Adam posted looks really good, too. Has more of a militaristic feel to it, for sure. For a banner, having it more stretched out like what Doc drafted would be better, though...

Vexona - any chance you would be willing to do a trial version without the color swap? Depending on the background, the laurels may pop better in the lighter gold (outlined in black). I would love to be able to see them side by side... Thanks!

You're too kind, thank you :)

@Dog Wizard- Sure I'll throw the different colored one together in a sec :).
I'll just edit this post with a preview when I have it on my server.

Edit:

Here you go. This took like 2 secs in Illustrator using the same file as before :D Hope that helps.

OoOoOoOoh! (y)

Love the work you did on that, Vex! The laurels definately look better now, too.

I have to admit I'm kinda at odds as to which one I like more, though.

I like the use of more colours in the one on the left (no one colour is overpowering the others), but I prefer the blue-on-yellow layering in the one on the right (the yellow honeycombs are too bright; they jump right out at you, and detract from the rest of the logo, imho).

Hmm... *scratches his metal-plated head, pondering* :cautious:

I just had a thought while doing some of the 3D logo stuff I'm working on. The logo for the site, whichever you decide on, would probably fall under the "needs trademarked" for IP. Just so no one else decides to claim the design as theirs. Not sure how worried you want to be about it, but if we're gearing toward being officiated, that may be a concern you wish to address.
