First build WIP - Halo 4 Recon Helmet / Halo 4 Mark VI Armor

Truckin along with a heck of a torso piece to go with that helmet! It always amazes me how a piece can look so different through each phase of the creation process. Yours is looking so pristine after that primer, it'd hard for many to see how much work went into getting it so smooth and sharp. I am so excited to see this go through its many stages and end up at the same level as your helmet.

Progress from today:

Goal was to shape the front top horseshoe detail pieces. I started at 8am and stopped at 4:30pm, long day. I got the pieces shaped and realized the left shoulder sat too low and didn't look good matching up to the detail piece like the right shoulder so I measured them up and sure enough the left was slightly misaligned. Straight forward enough fix was to add roughly 5mm to the top of the left shoulder.

I apologize for the double post tonight but I really wanted to get this pic up. I had dinner tonight then decided I couldn't end the weekend with spot putty on the torso. I sanded like crazy and sprayed on a layer of primer.

Came home from work and added the thruster pack details, really happy with how it's turning out

Thanks for your previous reply, and yup I'm still working on it but with my day job I can't complete much during the week currently; So I usually make my big progress on the weekends. Keep checking back I'll have more for ya soon.

Weekend of Nov. 16/17 20130 update:
So I've made it to the final detailing/ smoothing phase, I started with the rear section of the torso this weekend. Below you can see my progress so far. I hope to be able to pour some hours into it this week after I get home from work each day and by the end of next weekend start painting!!

You can see my paint progress on the torso below. I started off with a gloss black base then wet sanded it to 1500 grit. Next I did 3 different shades of the "bare metal paint" (dark to light). I'm sticking to the same paint process I used on the helmet for the most part except I only sanded the helmet to 600 grit.
