Gears of war costume and Mulcher WIP UPDATE

(Just a update. Pics on page 3)

Hello there just showing what i've been working on for a little bit. Been trying to post on here but didnt have a camera until know so I wanted to wait because I wanted to show pics. Well Here they are. The armor is made from my own templates I cut out from foam. The mulcher WIP is a toy airzone punisher that is being modded so the front will spin. Its basically made of styrofoam board, wood, and soon to have foam as well. I want to record the sound of the mulcher from the game and have it play when i push a button. Anyone have any ideas on what i can use to try to do this? Also I looking for a way to acquire a helmet or find the means to build one. Either of the carmines. Let me know. More to come......

First off, Great use of Football Shoulder pads, Second, everything looks amazing so far. I cant wait to see the final product!

Wow, your chest armour looks of a really high standard, well done! It's been ages since I played Gears2 (total play time about an hour:)) but the craftmanship on the Mulcher also looks amazing, I'll be watching this!!! I looked around for 20 mins o so for a helmet prep (you could use it as reference or create the helmet from it if you wanted) and I finally found one in the "Collection" in this thread: http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/7160-Cog-Armor?highlight=agbates+Gears (files call Project Carmine Finished). It's really complex though, so maybe you could modify another helmet. Someone else produced a helm (http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/30472-Ben-Carmine-COG-Armor?highlight=Gears), maybe ask him for some advice, it turned out really well. I hope I helped a little, keep it up!

Edit: ... and you've already seen it, all well, another win for the search function I guess!
As for your sound effect, just a wierd idea: if you got one of those 'singing' cards that people can record their own message in (and then the recipient opens it and that sound plays over and over) and then record the sound effect on it, then change the wiring so instead of having a sensor you have a switch/trigger, that could be a cheap (but probably flawed) option...

P.S. If your heads small and your lucky you could try this idea http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/18764-Easy-(Gears-Of-War)-Carmine-Helmet-For-Youngsters. but I don't think it's what you looking for...

Thank you both!
Yeah I love playing gears of war and the mulcher is like my favorite weapon. As for the electronics thats not a bad idea. I could always wire in a new better set of speakers because i want this thing to roar. Like in a room full of people i want this thing to turn heads. For the helmet yeah i was looking at both those threads lol and I PM'd that guy about his helmet earlier. In his thread his said he used a paintball mask and modded it. That might be the way to go for me as well. I still have sum led to add to the back plate and a few things to add. I cant wait to finish the mulcher even if it doesnt roar it will at least spin lol

That mulcher is well cool! Your really creative and im looking forward to seeing the final result you will have to put a vid up on youtube so we can hear how loud its gonna be! Hail to gears fans!! I was looking at the pep file for carmines helmet it looks really difficult but im sure you could do it!

Get your self a mini amp from radioshack and wire your speakers to it and trust me it will roar

Yeah I have that one for my boba costume but i was thinking bigger than that if possible. Do you know what I would need to record the sound?

I hate how the Radio Shack's smaller stores are becoming glorified cellphone kiosks. If you need some game accurate audio for the sound effects, I have extracted some of the sound effects from the games.

No problem..... I love my radioshack... not a single cell phone in them... still all electronic based..... hey dunbeetle send me a friend request please.... I have some things to talk to you about

Thanks gentlemen! Heres a update on my lancer I've been working on for a few hours...... tomorrow will be the mulcher......
