The sprint to Outpost Discovery continues. Chest armor is printed. Now to finish modeling the back armor and print it off.

Prints are really turning out great!! I remember you saying that your new armor pieces are substantially lighter. What’s the major factors in this? Less perimeter walls? When redoing your models are you making them thinner?

So some of it is perimeter and infill. But a lot of it comes from making the model more efficient. The old chest armor for instance had a lot of random stuff on the inside increasing its bulk so I was able to get rid of that. As stuff gets more assembled I'll do some weight comparisons.

And back armor detailing complete. I wasn't able to get all of it added but the large strokes are in there. Now to slice and print this bad boy.

And the gauntlets are almost done. Here are the blades with the metallic base coat.

Gauntlets are getting their paint applications. These things cleaned up nicely. Base layer on the gauntlets and color added to the 'blades.'

Another update before the big weekend push.
The gauntlets have their base color, just have to add the orange.

The chest armor seams filled.

and sanded down, now for some of that sweet epoxy to help finishing work and add strength.

And the first big section of the back armor is printed. The power cell is now fully integrated into it making it one piece. This right here is probably my favorite upgrade. Having the powercell separate in MKI just allowed for too much movement.

Back to the sprint

Big update dump. Been a busy week in the sprint to outpost.
Got the bicep/shoulder pieces all painted up. Just gotta add the orange.

Front chest armor is coming along nicely. Both it and the legs are in full cleanup mode. Hope to have them finished soon.

And the back armor is fully assembled. Attempted to make the boosters removable with magnets but the normal movement associated with walking around may be too much. So I'll end up gluing them in place. The single piece back armor is awesome, a major upgrade from MKI.

Working hard over the past week. Lots of big progress. The Biceps are done:

Everything is moving right along for Outpost Discovery in Orlando.

Oh hi, I suppose an update is in order. So since the last post I was able to completely finish the armor.

Here are the first shots of the completed shins

The next was the chest with 037 added in braille (my Spartan ID)

Back armor and perhaps the largest improvement came out amazingly

Then came the first suit up test. Overall I feel like Im wearing a high def version of my old suit.

And its awesome.

Debuted it at Outpost Discovery and had a great time.
