Alright, I'm happy to say I made some progress this week!

- Attached the lower back to the central torso. I had to leave the outermost edges unattached for now. The chest core was a bit too difficult to get in and out of. I am going to install small clasps for the tips to lock the edges in place.

- Attached the upper back weapon mounts. Nothing fancy here, just used a sheet of black 3mm foam as a buffer to attach the part. The holes for the lights need to be drilled in.

- Created the upper legs. I thought these would take longer honestly. I have some painters tape holding the shape until the strapping and buckles arrive later this week.

Not much left to build now.
- Still need to finish heat forming the visor.
- Need to remake the elbow plates. I'm not happy with the current ones.
- I have to create the padding for the gloves.
- And I need to make the boots of course.

Thanks for reading and let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks guys!

After thinking about it I'm not sure how long I'm actually going to want to wear a foam helmet at a con, drink or not..

So I got this idea late last night - The idea that the N7 helmet could be upgradable. Turns out it is :)

The ears are still fail, but I'm happy with the overall shape.

Now to get ready to cobble some magic boots together this week.

Saaaweeet dude!! Really nice foam work there man most impresseevo. Love a foam build that is so good it doesn't require paint.

I had to rush home from work because I was so pumped about starting the second phase of this project!

The initial strapping job was almost a complete success. The shoulders need an additional strap running from the front torso to back torso to help keep both shoulders closer to the body.

I need to add the "belt" strap around the waist as well.

I'm not really happy with the boots. I have some other ideas for them but I'll get to that later.

Everything feels fine. The Lycra suit makes the parts slip around a bit so I need to look for a solution to that.

The magnets on the lower back plate are a bit weak so I'll strip those out and install parachute clasps.

Megan seemed pretty happy with the progress so far :)

That's about it for the night. The next time you see this suit it should be on it's way to being painted. Goodbye light gray..

Thanks for reading!

Holy crap Hugh!! That thing is just great....scaling looks spot on, and the details are just awesome. I can't wait to see this get-up painted. Fine work buddy.

Thanks guys!

Back to 3D!!!
I started sculpting in details to this model. I'm pretty happy with where it's going. Now I just need to find something to do with it when I'm done 0_0

Holy crap man....well, if you decide to make it pep-friendly, just let me know if you want help on the unfold. If not, I can see that being something coming out of Shawn's CNC machine.
