I Got To Meet Steve Downes Last Night!

So there is this tiny little con going on in Cincinnati this week, Animation & Gaming Ohio 2009, and Steve Downes is one of their guests, in only his second Convention Appearance ever! And, Wow, let me just say that of all the celebrities I've met over the years, going to cons and working with the 501st, Mr. Downes is one of the nicest, most gracious ones I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He took the time to talk to each person getting his autograph, and came off as very interested in his fans and enthusiastic about the whole experience. And he wasn't even charging for his autograph like so many celebrities do, and he was giving away free little glossy pictures of the Master Chief that he would sign, as well as anything you brought.

I was wearing my Blue Mark V and he complimented me on the armor, talking to me about how I made it, and signed my picture, "To James, my brother in arms, Sepmer Fi!" I additionally got an autograph for my brother, and when I mentioned that my brother got me into making costumes, and now designs body armor for the military, he signed his "Keep up the good work! Semper Fi!" Pictures coming as soon as I get them off my friend's camera.

Didnt get a chance to meet him but BlackRose was nice enough to get me his autograph which said "Joe, Finish the fight!". Well Mr. Downes, done and done. His assistant told us he'd take a tour through the forums, she was making him wether he wanted to or not hehe. Too bad they didnt have photos of him as the gay alchemist from Venture Brothers, only thing that could have made it better.

If I ever went as a L4D character, I'd have to be Francis. Mainly because I am white, male, and not old like Bill.

But on topic, that's really neat, glad to know he is a nice guy and that Caboose knows how to spell his own name!
