Well I guess it's my turn. I'm 45 years old and I work as professional Fire Fighter in Central Florida. I have been a firefighter for 15 years now, and before that I was UH-1H Huey Crewchief for the Army. Just over 8000 safe flight hours. I Like to fly my remote control helicopters. I currently have 8 and I'm working on #9. I stumbled across this site and I don't remember how. But once I seen the Master Chief Helmet I wanted to try and see if I could make one. That was last night 10-17-09, I'm about half way done with the glueing and taping. This stuff interest me a lot and I'm thinking I can get into making props.

Hey everyone!



I'm Atharion, n00b to the 405th, as posting in this thread demonstrates this. I'm really excited to be working on my MkVI armor, I have been trolling the forum extensively and from the wealth of knowledge available from it I have already gotten a decent start on my project. I'm about to start glassing my helmet, and I hope to try bringing together a lot of different ideas from around the site and bring them together into what will hopefully be a very successful project. Hopefully my camera will begin to cooperate with me and I can post some nice pics of my work.

I'm a fan of Halo and a super fan of Gears of War. I particularly liked ODST not being a GOD type of player. My sons are way better than me. About twice as good. No kidding.



We also do medieval-type LARP and I love to do stuff. I'm not much into armor making as I already do wood-turning, leathercraft, and LARP weapons. Plus a few other hobbies. I love the pep stuff and would have definitely gone that way if it had been available when I was a teen. Anyhow, I love to see the techniques being shown here but I am likely to never build an ODST armor even though the desire is there. But the time and the amount of resources needed to do the job right in my eyes aren't there. As I have mentionned before I am already involved in too many projects to start a new one.



Keep at it as I love seeing what other people are doing. I am simply amazed at the work done by Lee Keegan and by Rube. I also want to tip my hat off to Spase for his job on padding the ODST helmet like a motorcycle helmet. How the hell that was done is just not in my skill set? Interested in learning but currently not known.



Anyhow, that's about it for now. Any other questions for me as a lurker is welcomed. But I won't be able to answer much in terms of armor building. I'll be a registered lurker for a while.
