Name: David KW Derksen
Age: 43 as of this moment
I've done other costuming - Tusken Raider, Ghostbusters, foamy Stormtroopers (kids), Jawas (kids), Jedi (kids), Boba Fett (kid), Hit-Girl (kid). I've used fibreglass before for the Tusken Raider tooth, as well as worked with gluing foam for the Stormtroopers. I have also done papercraft including the WizardOfFlight Fett helmet from The Dented Helmet.
I had wondered about fibreglassing effects on paper models years ago but never pursued it to this degree. As well had been noodling around with making 40K Marine outfits out of foam underlay about 20 years ago but never managed to get critical mass on that project.
I'm going to be seeing how far we can get on an ODST for my son for this year and maybe working away at a Spartan for us for next year. He's more the HALO player than I am but I am liking Red VS Blue - having just watched the season 5-7 DVD. I love the "That's right where I want you - within face-stabbing range" quote. I've already searched around a bunch and finally downloaded the Pepakura files to start.
Good times.
