I'm not worried about the cash outlay...just that they come back looking good.

This buck should produce a pattern on the visor that isn't too pronounced. This should keep it fairly clear for viewing. There will of course be distortion due to the vacuum forming process but, it is a costume. We're shooting for accuracy not a motorcycle helmet.

You guys must have a pretty serious table if you're pulling that in acrylic, can you describe your set up? I'm thinking about building a sort of crude reverse snap back setup for doing EVA's in acrylic...it works in my imagination...

Plexiglas EVA's>ViVak EVA's :(

The visor form(?) reminds me of those ironing Hams hehehehe... ohh.. mmmmmm ham...

Looks neat :)

LMAO!!!

Did somebody miss lunch today, HMM? ;) lol

John... I'm really liking the look of that visor buck. I think, once you've vacu-formed it, you should end up with just the right pronouncement on the raised grid/HUD details.

I'm so psyched to see how these turn out! Considering the method you're using for the mirrored finished, they should look awesome! :D

How do you make a motorcycle helmet visor? It's easy. First, buy a 50,000 square foot factory. Next, fill it with a zillion dollars worth of injection molding machines, robots, inspection equipment and raw materials. Then add a highly skilled and experienced staff who know how to design the products, engineer the processes and make everything flow smoothly through the plant.

That's all there is to it!

Cool read, it's a walkthru w/ pics of a moto visor plant that happens to be in Lancaster, PA...

Nice weathering job on that so far, Lewis! Looks like it's been through at least a few scrapes. And, I see you favour the white colour scheme. Nice contrast between that and the black details/accents... :D heh
