Yeah blame me Bishop, hahahaah! Too much good work going on, though hopefully I also didn't just doom everyone... And geez oh Pete, Stormy... SKILLZ!!! Such a clean model :D! Very inspirational!

So whats the difference between the CNC router and regular CNC? Different axis?

Yeah, I"m a size 4 and 109lbs tuba, I prefer being an athlete, ahhah hurts my head less! :)

I'm a big guy at 6'7" 314lbs, but I can get pretty *intoxicated* after a few of the RIGHT beers, but even on my most intense party night, I woke up the next day at 8 am and felt no effects from drinking at all.

To bishopx, thats good to know the foam is fairly durable. As for the prototyping, I can see where alot more clean up would be involved, as I just remembered the process (do'h!)

Last question- what sizing/scale are you making the pieces? I noticed with your hand holding the chest piece, it looks to be for a pretty thin guy? Maybe I'm wrong lol

All I gotta say, is you guys must have alot of patience to let those mills run all the time...

The chest is a little screwy. The front plates are really wide while the part that wraps the ribs is very narrow. We are making most of the armor in a stiff rubber that will allow some flex.

I'm 5'10" 225lbs. This will not fit me in a rigid form but once it is rubber, it will flex enough to curve around my ribs.

Obviously, Master Chief was designed to look like a superhero so this armor will never fit anyone quite like the game model. We just have to get close.

I WOULD have been posting it in here but I just now realized I can post outside the N00b forum. Lol

Yeah, MC's got those classic superhero proportions, with the big chest and wasp waist. I'm 6'0, 175 and I need the ribs to flex a bit even for me.

SKG, they're both CNC - the router is kind of a dumb 'bot, if that makes sense- its great for roughing things out and for large pieces, but not really good for high precision detail work. For that we have a machine that is much smaller and finer, and can use tiny, tiny bits (and change them automagically) as well as flip parts over, and at different angles. I'll be posting videos and pics as that gets underway this week... ;)

True that, seems to be a common theme unfortunatly. Sounds like it's going to be a snug fit, have you guys determined undersuit material? I wouldnt think it'd be too much of an issue, but I've seen it happen where someone makes their armor so tight to their bodies, they forget to account for certain undersuit materials, which ends up affecting their hard parts.

Then again, your gonna be using your rubber casting material, so I might just be thinking about it too much.

Oooooooooooooooh shiny armor Bishop!!

@Stormy: Mr. Chief and his barrel chest and waist the size of mine XP. Hahaah a "dumbot" poor thing! I see, it makes sense :) It's gotta be so cool seeing what you modeled in a tangible form right in front of you:D You guys just amaze me with how skilled you are!

@Tuba: Whoa, haha that's alotta beef!

Lee just picked up some materials for the undersuits to do some tests. Probably this week sometime. He just got back from Dubai working like a slave...

im absolutely sick looking at that grenadier helmet. i think ill go throw mine in the trash now. :(
i mean thats insanely nice to the point of ridiculous. lol

None of this gun was CNC'd. This was all hand made by one of our prop makers at work. It took him 3 evenings. The details on the sides are laser cut acrylic. The majority of the gun is made of Renshape.

The Gold Chief makes me think of Prestige weapons in COD4 MW.
I want to now take pictures, of me in my suit, Playing COD4 and owning.

You guys are inspiring.

So crazy amazing! hahahah as much as I love my Maya, I wish I could control the media like you guys do IRL XD!!!

What's Renshape Bishop, if ya don't mind my asking? Is that a type of foam as well?
