I've been trying to get my buddy who built his own table to hook me up with some cnc pieces for a bit now. I guess he said if I can get him some cad files he can convert them to step and we can get started. What material are you using for piece? It looks lke it may be some sort of high density foam. Where can a person get it from and any info on step files or cad models would be appreciated. Thanks and keep up the great work. Gforce598
I don't know if you guys have been following Stormy151's Halo 3 Magnum modeling build on the Legendaryarmor.net site but It's looking awesome. He should have been posting progress here.
This bad boy will be cnc'd also but not on the cnc router....this will be done and mastered on the standard CNC machine and then finished by hand. The high detail demands the other cnc.
Because I hate myself, I slathered a ton of evercoat on this sucker to give me something to do. Actually, I need to add some material to sand. I hate sanding.
Do you guys have or ever employ a rapid-prototyping machine? I can see that being perfect for the Magnum model you guys have
As for the Renshape boards you use for the CNC, how "durable" is it after the pattern is milled? I remember watching you guys finish the first helmet, but as for the chest piece model, how tough is it to "man-handling" when finishing?
The pink renshape is tough like solid bond. The dense green foam is like 20lb foam. You'd be hard pressed to dent it with your finger.
Actually, cnc will be cleaner for the magnum. There will be near zero clean up on it in the end. We grow tons of things for work. Our forearms and handback armor was all grown.
Yeah blame me Bishop, hahahaah! Too much good work going on, though hopefully I also didn't just doom everyone... And geez oh Pete, Stormy... SKILLZ!!! Such a clean model ! Very inspirational!
So whats the difference between the CNC router and regular CNC? Different axis?
Yeah, I"m a size 4 and 109lbs tuba, I prefer being an athlete, ahhah hurts my head less!
