Microsoft Cracking Down On Pep Files?

Anyway, when I checked my email this morning, I got this from the 4shared.com staff:

We received a complaint that some files in your account are breaking our

terms of use and contain illegal or abusive information. These files were

moved to the 'Abuse' folder and access to them was disabled.



You can remove those files so they will not consume your storage space.

And when you click on the link to my unfold of rundown's ODST helmet from this post, it says "This file is no longer available because of a claim by Microsoft Corporation."



Has anyone else gotten this kind of a notice?

EDIT: They probably think that the model being there has something to do with ODST's accidental early release. I doubt it though, because if I remember correctly, 4shared shows the date items are added. Unless, of course, Microsoft is that incompetent.

It seems kinda random since that's the only file in my folder that got "complaints." It's nowhere close to the number of downloads of the original ODST unfold but it got slapped anyway. :eek

This could be due to several reasons i would believe,



1. 4shared saw it as a new ODST file and maybe thought it was something being leaked so passed it on to microsoft.



2. 4Shared were told by microsoft anything linking to ODST to be taken off as it may be leaked information.



3. Microsoft were browsing 4shared and thought it was ODST leaked information.



4. Microsoft are deciding that making the armour is now breaching legal laws.



5. Some kid reported the file to microsoft.



6. 4Shared didn't want to get into trouble for hosting a file so contacted microsoft



Thats all i reckon could of happened.

Guys, I would probably refrain from casting the first stone at Microsoft. Seeing as it is their legal right to do as they please. Now is it right, not really, but our word means jack in this case. I wouldn't be calling the "douches" and "stupid", for the simple fact that, what if it is just a leak scare. Who says now that some people say their stupid, that they won't go ahead and give an order to cease all armor making. Lets be nice to Microsoft.

Oh man, all I got to say is, this is a pretty serious threat to the Pepakura Forum, so it's probably in the right place.



I'll never let Microsoft quarantine my ODST files (Mwuhahahah), but no, actually, who knows, I might be the next person whose 4Shared account is gonna get hit. I've had 4Shared delete one of my files before, but it didn't have anything to do with Microsoft/Halo/405th. I think Microsoft did it simply because they were too jealous of Rundown's modeling skillz (yes, with a "Z") and Ral's unfolding skillz, and didn't want anyone else to know about it. Then they get all the credit. I think that backing up the pep files now would be a great investment of time. This makes me sad
