PLEASE stop saying WETA accurate. Unless you have some sort of proof that it will be extremely similar to the WETA counterpart, then just say the name of the armor or weapon you are making without advertisement. If you think your armor or weapon is "WETA accurate", I will gladly point out all of its imperfections and inaccuracies so you can "perfect" it.

With that out of the way, however, your armor is going well. Although I am still skeptical that you ever passed the cardboard stage of your previous armor, your current project is looking to be an eyecatcher. Also, making doubles of some pieces for their H3R forms is a very good idea.

Thanks for the comment. I do realize that nothing is perfact (considering that WETA can only make that exact armour) and when I say "accurate" I mean about 90% - 98% right. Nothing is 100% accurate except for the real deal so please don't take me the wrong way. I compleatly understand that nothing but the real thing is 100% accurate.

Anyhow, thanks for the comment. I just came up with the Halo 3:Recon mods simply because who wouldn't want to have the WETA ODST armour and the Halo 3:Recon armour without having to build 2 whole seprate sets of armour?

I'll update as soon as im done peping some more parts, but sadly, the Halo 3:Recon armour will be a "secret" project until its ready for either Bondoing or I become too proud to not share it with the public. The only question is, am I the first to have this idea, and will I be the first to make the Halo 3:Recon armour?

Rofl, You sure will have to find out about being first, i heard someone is already done bondoing, but could be just a rumor xD you know how it works out, Well Hoping for the updates, and such.

I know I'm not the first to make Halo 3:Recon armour in the world, and I'm also 100% sure that Im not the first to make the WETA armour either.

Anyhow, Im sorry to say that my updates will be coming later than expected. Sorry.

That is some nice pep work. I'm not a fan of cardboard at all but the battle rifle is pretty sweet to see.

Now Recon armor... no need to keep it private unless you really want to. I have been searching for those subtle differences for over the past two months. Keep up that fantastic work.

I'm not keeping the Halo 3:Recon (I know its been changed to Halo 3:ODST but Recon just sounds more "Bad @$$") armour a secret. I had the idea about a month ago, and I started working on some cardboard prototypes of the biceps, main chest plate, and gaunlets. I'll post pictures of them sooner or later, but first I will post pictures of the pep ones.

I'll update either tomorrow, Thursday or Friday depending on how everything goes.

Sorry for the bad quality pictures, but its snowing out so I couldn't take any good ones outside.(there better quality outside because of the large amount of lighting)

Tell me what you all think.

Nice, I see you're getting on pretty well.

Could I recommend you to try using Photobucket? Its completely free, And you can actually link us directly to the picture rather than the website that has the picture shown there.

On those links, Next to the picture there is some writing.

If you copied "Direct Link" it would take you to a completely blank page with nothing on but the picture. That's my own choice.

Or take the [IMG} Url It will be the direct link but with [IMG} AND [IMG/} wrapped around it. Paste that to a forum and the picture will appear.

Quick question; when making your cardboard rifles, do you do them in 3d or just put a bunch of layers together and glue them on? (As in, for the thickness of the rifle)

Anyways, great job so far, keep it up!

Well, when I make my rifle, I first use this forum to find the blueprints of the rifle im going to make. Than I scale the blueprints up to the real scale of the rifle using a ruler and pencil. I do this by measuring the length of the bluebrint rifle I printed, and finding the length of the rifle in the game. I than scale it up line by line until the weapon is 100% up to scale. This takes 2 days to a week to do, depending on the complication of the model.

Next, I cut the full scaled blueprint out, and use it as a template and trace around it onto some thick, sturdy cardboard. I than cut this out and use the cardboard one as a template to trace and cut out 5-12 more identical parts. I than glue them altogeather to make it more sturdy, than I creat the details using differant thicknesses of cardboard until the model is as thick as it is suposed to be. I get all of my info of the length and width of the weapon from Halopedia or www.bungie.net.

I will eventualy make a tutorial on how to do this, but in much more detail and with pictures.

Ok, well, after finally finishing my final examinations at school, I got to work on my WETA Battle Rifle. Its come a long way from my first attempt at a Battle Rifle. I have a new system for the reciever which incorperates a spring, not an elastic. It also has a MUCH larger mag.

Here are the update pictures!

New reciever system before installment:

New reciever system fully installed:

New reciever system opened. The spring makes it possible to spring back into place once it is pulled:

Width comparison between the BR V1 and V2. The V1 was VERY skinny compared to what it was supposed to be:

The V1 and V2 profile shot togeather. You can clearly see how much improvement was needed:

And finally, a profile shot of the BR V2:

Hope you all like it!

your BR looks pretty damn good. so does you armor, Hell its all damn good. hope you dont have to relive the past bondo nightmare.

Im not worring about the Bondo thing again. I have a spray on plastic I am going to use after I apply the small ammount of Bondo and spot putty. This time, im not coating the whole thing in Bondo.

Just a heads up, I am 80% shure I will be casting it and doing only ONE run of TEN BR's. They are not going to go cheep, and If you are outside of Canada, Im not sending it painted. This is because of Canadian customes, there really cracking down on replica weapons. When I post a thread in the Classifieds , its first come, first serve.
