use clay to make molds, you cardboard like this guy did

fiber glass to me is used to making painting look better and reinforces it a little bit.

Plaster should only be used for reinforcing your mold. Never make anything to wear out of plaster.

i have used mod-roc(cloth with a special plaster of paris) to reinforce mine.
its ok as long as you dont step on it.....I found out the hard way.
its quite good cos its flexible(abit) and you can layer it.
do not just put plaster on cloth. mod roc is unqiqe
