Read the stickies. Your problems will be solved with the using pepakura sticky. You need to change your paper and print configuration. Plus a few posts up is the torso. Look here.

Thanks, that does help but I dont get why Callmemillo made it the way it is. Some of the pieces are too long to fit on a page. I guess he must be using A4 sheets or whatever, but when I try to work on one of the gauntlets theres a few pieces an inch or two too long for the paper (the only piece ive tried to print off yet).

Are you using these peps or your own Ben? And anyone have any ideas?

You can use the join/disjoin feature (the little zipper) to separate the pieces that are too long for the page. Cam probably did use A4.

You should probably check your scale also. It looks like you're making the forearms
over 34cm long. I guess you could need them that long....are you over 6'6"?

Well clay is not that expensive, depending of the brand and if it's oil or water.

Lots of propers use WED clay (Wed stands for Walt E. Disney) which is water based, but take a long time to dry out. It's like 20$ for 50 pounds...

And Chavant is like 10$ for 2 pounds here.

I get my clay from Monstermakers.com (dono about the link). It used to be ~6$ / 2lb billet, but they just bumped their prices to around 8$ / 2lb. So yeah, clay is kind of expensive, but its reusable so it becomes a one time cost.

I think I have ~25 lbs floating around the house.

The chest piece and the shoulder are nearly ready for casting. I'll probably get to those tomorrow since I dont work on fridays anymore. Holler! :)

T-minus 8 weeks

In that last photo, on the right is that supposed to be zombie Ironman from Marvel Zombies?

Thats freaking AWESOME man...if I wasn't so into making my MC armor I'd start making an Iron Man suit instead!

update: Chest piece is 95% sculpted as of last night. If the weather clears up, it'll get molded and cast this weekend. Woot!

I have been lurking for a while now and I have to say your work looks great. I can't wait to see more. Post progress photos and let us know what materials you are using. See what we can do to help you a bit if you need it.

Makes me want to really move on that War Machine. :D

It's very obvious that this project isn't getting done by halloween and I've been having some curing issues with my Rebound 25. (two tries on the chest and both [FAILBOAT]- not sure what the problem is)

I'm going to put this armor on the back burner while I throw together a halloween costume:

It's also given me a good excuse to buy one of these:

OHHH yes, i would love to see a starkiller costume!
machinedfx, a member here makes FX starkiller lightsabers for VERY reasonable prices, check out his thread: Starkiller's saber

Well do what you have to do. I hope that you will return to the Iron Man because your progress thus far as been excellent. Start another thread some where and show us your progress on this costume because you can never learn to much. Good luck!

I'm kinda poor at the moment, so it won't be true to the character.

Leather is expensive! I've been rooting around in the thrift stores nearby and I've found some quality stuff.

Look for a new thread once I have a bit more completed. (Where would that go? Molded armor? Undersuit ?)
