thanks ben and Lee!! always great to have your support and expertise. ok another update I read carnages thread about these files and he is correct you have to be super skinny to fit them with that being said I took superman extreme1's advice and started to figure out how I can modify this to my sizing and I decided to start with the abplate and the cod piece, if I can get those parts looking good I'm sure everything will come together. now with that said I cant give anyone the acurate sizing that they might need for there suit as I had to do some moding that changes the size of the pep all together after I build it. I had to make the ab plate at what in the model would be for a 9-10 foot person then take out some sides panals and angle the front in and this is what I got,



this one I believe will be the final size and it looks good on me and fits well

now I build so many of these yesterday I sick of them, but I was determind to get a size that works

final one is all the way on the left, the one next to that was the 6 foot hight on the model, then ben streepers model which does fit as well might use that for warmachine later, and then the last one is just a cod that came out way to big I had used the same scale as the final ab plate

there isnt much of a difference from the inside all I do it paste the piece onto the cardboard and cut it out leaving behind the tabs as they are not needed when doing it this way which save a ton of time on cutting out. I got something in the mail yesterday I'd say I should have enough to make all the casted parts for my ironman now.

So how do you glue the pieces together if you don't cut out the tags? This sounds like a 10x faster way to build it then I do.

If I'm correct, the parts basically have enough rigidity after you add the cardboard that a simple line of hot glue up the inside seam will hold it together. that's what we did for our sculpture class when we tested with cardboard. Now that I think about it, the piece may actually be stronger, since there aren't folds there now, it can't really move and shift.

wrising is correct, you dont even need the tabs so it saves a lot of room on the paper when you print it out and you dont have to use card stock unless you want too.



ok so I've remade dancing_fools chest to better fit the overall suit it took most of a day to finish it and I'll still have to remake the flaps that go on the back but I'm much happier with this size now, I'll be putting in a little plastic just to reinforce it a little more before bondoing when the weather gets warmer. so her are some test fitting photo's

the final size on the chest was 47.5 and it is smaller than the first one.

I love the harmony with the samual ling Ab core plates and the dancin fool torso. Did you mod the spine or it just fit into the torso back slot by luck?

finished another small mold for parts on my arc reactor waiting for the first patch to cure of the clear parts.

also its still cold outside but the suns been out so I got out for a few hours the other day and did some bondo work.

You going to use your arc reactor in it?



I was thinking of that, but looking any of the pictures the arc reactor just looks like a solid white light from the chest. I think I'll just use an EL sheet for the chest, look more movie like.



Looks like you used the plastic re-enforcement method, how much did you pour?

How much does the chest piece weigh on it's own at the moment? Looks like it could be quite a weight, especially with the rest of the gear.
