Hey guys. Im a noob (obviously) and I would like some advice. I already have an idea for a project. Im making a Master Chief suit (A little unoriginal, I know) I know most of what I need. What im really looking for, is tips. Anybody know some good detailing tips? Painting tips? I will take any information I can get.

Welcome to the forums!

First off i would suggest starting a W.I.P. (Work In Progress) thread and then start with your project. Post pictures with updates and if you have any questions throughout your project post them there.

Since you are starting your project i would say check out the stickies located in the Noob forum. If you already have, that's awesome! If not start by looking at the ones centered around Pepakura and gluing things together. If you are not doing it by Pepakura you may have to dig a little bit through the forums to find a help thread with the materials you are going to use.

Once you get started take your time and do it right. make sure you have your pieces sized as best you can before you make them and start with a small piece so if you do make a mistake in the size it is not a lot of time wasted. Don't get discouraged if you do screw up cause trust me, we all have screwed up at least once. Take the time to cut and glue correctly, cause if you take time to do it as accurately as you can in Pepakura (or whatever material/process you are doing it in) the less you have to do with Bondo or Rondo later down the road.

Good luck and if you have any more questions for this stage or later feel free to ask!

Sorry I'm just adding one little note, but also make sure you read all you can in the Creation Discussion forum and the Pepakura and Cardboard Armor subforum. Do some reading for a while before you start so you know what you're doing and you'll be set!

Thanks guys. I will for sure ask questions if any problems come up. And thanks for the tips. Last time I did a project (it was my first time) I made ALOT of stupid mistakes. I will be sure to take my time and make sure I have everything I need.

Oh, also. This is kinda awkward...but I dont suppose any of you guys have an extra gun? I cant find the molds to make my own, and im scared to death of making my own mold. But, if I had a gun, I know how to make molds of it. Do you think you can help me out? I will pay you back in the future.
