Does anyone have any advice on using cardboard or craft foam for making Halo armor? I have used card stock with pepakura, but I wanted to try something else just to widen my ideas of making stuff. I have never used the two materials I listed before but I had read about other people using them and wanted to know if anyone had any advice.

The question you're asking is far too broad to give you any kind of definite answer or direction. Before you asked this, you should have taken a while to look through builds that use these materials. There are many very good foam builds going on right now that should not be overlooked. Two come to mind right off the top of my head...

Cardboard is getting more and more rare to see, with the uprising of foam as a quick-build medium. Cardboard (especially the corrugated box type) rarely looks convincing as armor, so it's no real surprise that people are moving away from it.

So, check out those threads, LOOK AROUND for more builds done with the materials you're interested in, post a few questions in the "Help" series threads and get a more specific idea of what you want to do. Then, when you've figured all that out, you can start playing around in order to generate specific questions. As I mentioned earlier, asking for advice for a very broad topic is rarely going to get you any answers worth their weight. Good luck!
