Well, another milestone reached. The Battle Rifle is ready for this weekend and for launch.
The paints I used were a combination of Gunmetal Gray Metallic and Storm Gray Metallic (automotive paints from Duplicolor), and Flat Black from Krylon. I think I got the colors pretty close (although the metallic color looks a bit more silvery in the picture than it does first hand). I know that on the in-game rifle, the 14 triangles are infilled with black, but I really like them the way they are now, so I'm going to leave them.
Now all I have to do is whip up another barrel tip and paint it orange for the midnight launch!
Dude your work is amazing!!!!!!!!!! I love your armor and weapon, gotta get back into working on mine. seeing your build puts me back into the mood "runs out the door and starts bondoing"
Thank you! Even though this scope is just the first prototype and I plan on building a new one sometime after launch, I still love the way it turned out as well. I had a bit of an issue getting it mounted. I was going to buy a metal rail and bolt that to the gun, but the mounts that I bought a long while back for this don't fit any of the standard rails for some reason. So I may have to purchase a rail and mounts at the same time and redesign the internals of the scope accordingly, though it should still looks the same.
Thanks! You're going pretty all out on your spaser, and it's looking pretty incredible too. Mine has absolutely no moving parts, the electronics aren't even installed yet (will be sometime after launch). There are parts of this gun that I wish I had a little more time to spend, but time is up, and I'm still pretty happy with it.

As mentioned in the paragraph below the pics, it's actually two metallic automotive paint colors and the flat black. It looks very silvery in the picture, but, once again, that's my camera picking up things brighter than they actually are. The color differences are a bit more subtle first hand and the metallic paint is closer to the way the McFarlane toy Battle Rifle looks and not as shiny. The way the colors look in the picture makes it look like the BRs used by the ODSTs in Landfall.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments! Got a little more for you all. My brother came over tonight and wanted to see the suit. I figured since I'm going to be suiting up tomorrow for the video shoot, it would be a good time to see if everything is still in order (and that I haven't forgotten anything).
I'll see what I can do about getting photos of the shoot tomorrow.
Pics look awesome. The rifle definitely completes the look. Just out of curiosity. . . . what's the wattage on those LEDs? They look like they are tons brighter than my son's in direct light. I know you got them from a Christmas light strand, but they sure are bright. . . . LOL!
HEY! GET BACK INTO THE CONSOLE RIGHT-EFFING-NOW! How am I supposed to kill covvies if YOU are not in the game? WTF!!!
GET BACK IN! *jabs printed out picture into Disc Drive of console*
No seriously GREAT COSTUME! GREAT PAINT JOB! GREAT EVERYTHING! You also have the anatomy of a big STRONG guy! Is that you? OR some undersuit?
I was also wondering if you could share your LED wisdom with us!
And if lastly I'm allowed to give some CONSTRUCTIVE critisism...
have you considered a Dual Layered Chief visor? It'd really top of your costume... Then again... The perfect chief suit... There's no such thing as perfect... IS there?
