Haha thanks man!! Hey I learned one major thing with this hobby. Don't be sentimental about the prop itself, but be sentimental about the execution in which you build the prop! Basically, don't be a afraid to start over, it will get better each time. Haha

Honestly my methods are get it as clean as possible on the build out, then sanding, lots and lots of sanding, 320 and 400 grit are my go to. Sanding blocks, sand paper, you name it. Then spend the time getting seams or roughed foam smooth with quik seal. Recently I started doing the black acrylic over the foam and quik seal to basically help see what still needs refined. Then guess what, i sand that too.. lol it also "pre-seals" the pores of the foam and makes the Rustoleum Leak Seal go on even smoother.. then you guessed it, that will get a light sanding too!! Haha if I still see imperfections like seam marks and such, I quik seal that then spray another light coat of Leak Seal.

Haha what's barvo?
343i community manager Andy [bravo] dudynski was given the name barvo bu the halo community as a joke and commonly used in the meme phrase "barvo plz". He kindof adopted it and There have been a couple Easter eggs in the halo games since referring to it. It's really just someone misspelling it/being funny and everyone wanted to rename Andy.

Oh that's funny, never knew that. So many easier eggs in the games. So much fun!

After tons of sanding, lots of quik sealing, more sanding, more heat forming, and perfecting the visor seating, finalized with multi coats of leak seal. This thing is looking pretty darn good for a foam MK VI. Pics don't do justice as its hard to catch light cause of the rubber coat. I got a lot of work done the last 2 days. Paint is in the very near future. Got alot of pieces prepped and fully rubber coated with leak seal. Also got my light lense holed all cut out as well. The race is on to be done for halo outpost in Philly!!

I posted these on IG but I'll share more on here for the fam! Making a lot of progress on the final prep before paint! I apologize if I post to many pictures for you all, I just always love seeing everyone else's progress foam work so I figure I should return the favor. Sean Anwalt is straight rocking it on his halo 4 build, we have to keep each other motivated!!

I gotta admit... this was actually seriously fun and will complete the look of my halo 3 Chief. Final prep of the torso is under way for rubber coating! Everything else is done. So many improvements have been made since my last suit up pics, to many to even count. Can't wait to suit up one more time before paint to see how all those improvements have paid off!

Yeah, that looked good an' all, but the one scratch there, three scratches down and two scratches in? Yeah, that's not game accurate. Everything else is good, though. Perhaps TOO good. Know what I'm sayin'? I mean, will people be seeing YOU, or the costume?

Tear it down and try again. But this time, don't embarrass yourself.

Haha yeah the pic doesn't show it as good as in person does, it's not 100% a match but I kinda had fun with it and made it my own. I will fine tune it with paint though and get it pretty darn close. The gouging will just give it the basic depth but the black base with silver over it will get it closer to the game. I'm glad I did it, I was so torn at first but now that I did, I love it. Plus... I can always make another one! ;)

I TOLD YOU!!!

Your welcome...;)

What tools did you use for your scratches?

Just my dremel with the normal sanding drum that I always use. I used the corner of it a lot to get various sharp gouge affects. Then once done I hit it with some heat to seal it. Lightly sanded by hand to tone it down some then lightly heated one more time. Looks really good in person vs in the pic cause you can see the 3 demensional aspect of it. It will really look complete once painted!
