I recently got commissioned to build kelly's halo legends/the package armor for a child

I'll be using the master chief forward unto dawn pepakura files, since they're pretty similar, and i'm not doing a very detailed build, to adjust to the client's budget and deadline (3 weeks)
I also used Satchmo III 's kelly helmet file, i unfolded it for foam, here's His thread and the file

I started with the chestpiece and helmet
For most of this build i used 6 and 9mm EVA foams, and superglue

the visor wont be a full dome, just a little window as one of the visor's panels that i'll draw on the foam later

i'll reinforce the seams from the inside with hot glue when the rest of the armor is built

You'll never catch me, deadline

I've spent the whole day listening to the "first strike" audiobook and building the armor pieces
I simplified the pepakura files a lot, and also re traced details and the outline on the printed patterns

For example, the thigh armor was about 10 pieces straight out of the pepakura file
I merged them all into 3 pieces in total

There's still some sanding i need to to to smooth out some edges and seams and heat seal it

I still need to glue the shin guards and build the shotgun
i'm gonna do a simple build, but do the custom paintjob on it

Looking good mate :)
That is some freaking CLEAN foamsmithing! Georgeous. *Watched*
That is exactly what I was thinking. Dang that is clean
awesome this is just so clean man this is one lucky kid. keep up the great work i will be watching this build......
Wow, others already said what I was thinking looking at the first post - CLEAN! Sounds like a stressful build but looks like you got it.
Like everyone is saying, those cuts so so damn clean! Once painted you will find it hard to tell its foam armour!
Thank you all, so much!!
It has been a while since i built an armor set, i'm very glad to see you guys like it!

I finished building the shin armor

I just noticed i forgot to make the handplates, so i'll make some templates for them right now
Shouldn't be too complicated

It's currently 3am... So i'll sand the pieces with the dremel tomorrow (dont wanna piss off my neighbors)

So....how are you going to do the visor? Or just let the child walk into walls....it would be funny..... but not for the parent.
Ideally, i would put a vaccumformed dome for the visor
However, i don't have a vaccumformer, and the parent said its not really an issue if its not the full dome visor
So what i'm gonna do, is cut out the middle section of the visor and replace that with a sheet of plastic
kelly's visor desgin has some different panels on the dome, so i can take advantage of that

That's the idea anyway
Hopefully I'll figure it out when i get to that, but i'm open to suggestions

maximum overdrive is right. phenomenal work.

Thank you!!

Thank you!!
that is a great idea on the visor. and man how much caffine do you drink way over ( over drive) lol but really great job on the suit nice and clean..

I built the shotgun!
And, since the shotgun is also very small, i finally used the scrap pieces of foam and PVC i've been saving for months now!

I still need to reinforce the seams of the armor and heat seal it

Quick question
Since the armor is white
Could i seal the foam with black plasti dip and it would work out? Or should i get a couple cans of white plasti dip?
