I just started and printed out some easy ones(ya right) on just regular paper. It is very time consuming and the learning curve is pretty tough. To all those who have created armor I give you all the credit in the world. I am going to stick with it and learn as much as I can. If you think this easy you are SO wrong.
Great site.

Thanks Jay

Yeah pepakura is a pretty difficult thing to get at first. But once you get the hang of it by just doing a ton of different pieces it tends to become a natural thing. It certainly is not an easy thing to just walk in off the street and pick up. Also you said you were using regular paper? If so you will have to be very careful about warping if you decide to finish the pieces later on. I would personally recommend using a cardstock. This will also give you a more rigid piece and help you to fit and maintain the shape of better. But its just a thought, as I have seen people use regular paper to great results! Good look and keep on trying. But you have to remember to just have fun with it. If you don't you can get frustrated and lose interest. Just have fun and learn from it. =]

Just finished on my paper spartan boot. Its not to scale like I had hoped to. but I got some practice in. Please tell me what you think for a first time doing this. Be honest.

Thank you !!!

I am going to use cardstock on my next piece. This was a trial run. I think it turned out pretty good for a first timer.
going to get paper and then the resin and take it from there.
Figure I would do one piece at a time so I would not be overwhelmed.
thanks again for your input and support.

I have the exact boot hanging on my wall, also made of paper as I wanted to do a trial first before wasting cardstock, use the "official pep scaling tutorial" to set your size, it has the best results of any other scaling techniques IMO, looks good and keep up the good work, now for the real stuff huh!!!

btw heres the link to the scaling thread

yes, now for the real stuff, but first I want to find out a few more things about the boots. I want to wear my armor over my old pair of work boots but when I scale the boot to make it I dont want it to look like clown feet. I wear a 10.5 shoe so I want the boot to be to portion with the body armor.

is there any way that you can spray the resin on your project from a spray bottle> is there some way to dilute it????
it may take longer to dry but is this possible?????
