Great looking progress so far. I don't know if you'd be interested, but I have a more detailed Cod piece file and a boot shell file that isn't in pieces if you'd like to look at them to see if you could use them. I think I need to renew my 4shared account though, because paypal keeps telling me that there is a problem with 4shared's account and it wouldn't auto renew. Let me know if you could use them, and keep up the good work.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at those files. I must warn you though, I'm almost done with my final piece so there's a very good chance that I will be sticking with what I have due to the almost non stop pepping I've been doing. My fingers need a break :(

Not an issue at all. I understand completely about needing the break. I had one of those mad dashes to pep everything I could in as short of time as possible myself. Just thought I'd offer in case you haven't seen them. Maybe you can use them in the future if you'd like to upgrade.

Here's the boot file: Reach Boot
Here's the Cod by Roadwarrior: Reach Cod by Roadwarrior
and another Cod by Rhinoc: Rhinoc and Missing Spartan Cod

Hope you can use them in your build whether it be now or later on.

UPDATE:
Finished pepping the helmet and does it look sexy!( to me anyways :p )
Started the process of resin, and good news! pieces that had tape are holding long enough for the resin to set in so I don't have to redo pieces :D I'm having a slight issue with the work time of my resin because A.) here in south Texas it's hot as balls and B.) I just reuse a small container for mixing resin so after one batch goes hard I pour in the same container. It works but it doesn't take long before it gets insanely hot and just speeds up my work time :( Anyways here's my progress.

Wow this is coming along great! Everything looks awesome. You've inspired me! :)

That's part of it man! I should have started this early, but I know most people see the goal of an entire build in 2 & 1/2 months to be nearly impossible. So I like to do it just to show people with dedication anything is possible. Also having everyone gawk at you on halloween is fun too ^.^
For those wondering I have my shin pieces tucked in the thigh pieces since I have no room in my shed, it's all stored there over night to keep it out of the sprinklers.

A small tease here, I ordered my pressure suit for my chest along with some decent gloves and my visor which should all arrive between Aug. 30th and Sept 5th so as soon as those come in I'll share a picture with links for anybody interested.

Today has been a very long day you guys. I fiber glassed everything... let me repeat that statement, I fiber glassed EVERYTHING today. My back is killing me and I'm exhausted, but so much progress made it makes me want to cry.
Also got some bondo on the helmet in places where I think it will be needed to help the detail I plan to do later on along with a coat of primer to help me when i get to sanding.

Minor update and a slight bump.
Received my visor, pressure suit, and gloves in the mail today! If anybody wants, I'll be more than happy to provide links to the individual items. Also knocked out the bondo visor on the helmet and did minor sanding. Now that I can't continue progress at work things have slowed down considerably. Here's some pictures of my purchases and the current helmet. Comments, tips, questions are appreciated.

Alright guys, not much has happened lately but today I have the entire day off to get some work done and hopefully have some good looking pieces to show all of you later tonight. I'll be applying bondo and sanding most of the day. The helmet has suffered a few holes that I'll be patching up and sanding down. If all goes well, I should have atleast half of my pieces ready for paint, but it's early and I always set my goals a bit high before I actually start working.
Quick question for those watching: In regards to padding inside of a piece, how do you all feel about expanding foam? Last year I had some thick foam padding that I just glued inside but it's starting to wear off so my thoughts were the expanding foam would be more adhesive to the pieces and I can just cut off what I don't need.
Anyways, pics later tonight, I promise!

I would avoid it. I don't think it would be very comfortable, and it would probably start flaking off anyway. Check out my padding tutorial in my thread, here is the link directly to the post...

Sewing it up in cloth is not necessary, I do that for a few reasons; first, I don't like the feel of the type of foam I use, second, the black cloth looks better than the white foam and finally, the cloth protects the foam so it lasts longer.

Hope that helps and good luck with your progress today!

PICTURES!
Today's progress involved applying some bondo to the thighs, biceps, and forearms. I patched a few holes in the helmet, bought the paint I'll be using and some sanding, let me know what yall think!
