Sorry if I missed it but what is the whole rep thing about. Says im rep 1 but I have no idea what that means. Does it just mean that im friggen awesome?

*EDIT* Got it (or at least I think so). It looks like it was just a problem with the import/conversion of the old messages and I couldn't figure out the new functionality based on that bad data. It appears that it basically archives the whole conversation as its own "child-board" with the last response used as the new header...

Any idea what that could mean? It happened with the 'Ultimate Iron Man Thread' and 'Dare Recon... painted like Dare' Topics. I haven't tried anyother topics yet, but I think it's gonna keep happening to me...

I dunno, I just tried the link and it worked for me, I've also been on the Ironman thread 4 or 5 times now, Try them again and if it still happens, Maybe logging in and out will help, or maybe something in your internet browser is messing the site up, I know my father has this thing where AFTER the page has failed to load, I have to allow the scripts on the page manually because it blocks them all at first to be safe.



@ Twitch, i have no clue, I think 1 rep is like 1 positive rating on your post or profile, etc.



@ TH3 FETT MAN Adam said he has to tweak the colors around a bunch, so I guess we just have to bear with him.

Nope, I logged in and out and it still does that. I turned my browser's Protected mode off to see if that would work, I'm gonna try something else, and I'll edit this post with the results.

Well, I can't be here then. If I can't even look stuff up, then what's the meaning of me being here? It won't even let me look at the thread, and now it's happening with everything that has a picture/video in it. The only reason I can read this is because no one has posted a picture in it.

Caen it's all the old YouTube code that is failing to load page. I'm sure Adam has been working out tons of bugs but this is a big hit on the 405th today with the sudden change and no beta check before the intergration to this new system was made. So we have a new forum system things will be buggered up for a while because Adam didn't try the board system on a test site first before he ported in the new system. We all know and love the old system because it worked... Well this will to after all the bugs and other issues regarding the template/skin and pm sections are resolved.



Hopefully next time we will get a warning so the entire community can be prepared and everything is fixed and bug free when the actual site would go live. So hold on and keep reporting your bugs Adam will get to them when he can.



For those of you who have just started to read this stuff incision board systems have only released the ipb3 system this past week final stage and may or may not make an apperence on other forums till the main release is announced. Adam implemented this cause he is a paying customer and gets the final release early. I just thought every one ought to know is all

I've got a bad feeling about the reputation system. It didn't work out so well in another board I was a member of. It lead to the creation cliques and wars between them. UserA would say something UserB didn't like and then UserB and his (or her) buddies would rate UserA poorly. It created a lot of ill will and a lot of competition to have the highest rating. A number of people who didn't really want to be part of the ratings wars grew tired of having low rankings despite contributing most of useful content and split to form another group. I'd hate to see that happen here.

I completely agree. It's abusive and does nothing but start little childish wars.



My opinion? Junk it. But feel free to wait for the ill effects to tide in.

Heeey, so much change, liked some features *hence messenger :eek * the lay out of it, but such a quick change, thought i had the wrong forum at first. I wanna just put it out there in the "Forum Bubble" that there should be a small poll, if possible bout changing. But if not, its nothing to be concern bout, since there are changes happening :3 Just stating my mind



Just as long as everyone gets along, changing the forum layout shouldn't be a problem. (minus the Rep count) And TOTALLY agree with Rube and ImaGonnaGetYou

There were thread ratings and user ratings in the old board too. We haven't heard a complaint about the thread/user rating until yesterday when the theme/version switched. Perhaps, because of the previous organization of the board, people did not notice it or use it much before (I don't know ._.)? Just remember that the concept is not new, we've had the 5 star system available for the entire lifetime of the board.



Yes, the *new* aspect is the individual post rating. Each member only has the ability to cast their 'vote' on a post once. One person alone cannot bury or promote a post. A lone (-1) or (+1) says little about the quality of a post. It takes a consensus to make an impact. Maybe one negative person didn't like what you said and gives you a minus. You or someone else can hit + and it stays in a sort of equilibrium (big whoopie, right?). That's bound to happen. It only becomes relevant when that negative or positive rolls over to 10 (or whatever threshold is in place). Anything outside of that, must not be extraordinarily offensive or helpful. The system is meant to target exceptional posting, in either end of the spectrum.



Whether or not the system works will rely on the maturity and nature of the community as a whole.

Is anyone else having trouble reading some items on the site? i know when i go to look at someones profile and see their posts i cant read any of it unless i highlight it. now i am red/green colorblind so this may just be me but man it gives me a headache trying to highlight and read things. anyone having this problem?



PS: i like the colors, not so bright and back to basics... ahhh feels like home again.

1. Yes, the colors are still being tweeked.

2. Yes, I'll get NEW POSTS up on the side bar instead of "NEW TOPICS"

3. Certain bugs will be fixed when they release the proper version

4. Give the rep system a try. It's meant to hide bad posts and highlight good ones (with a +10 and -10 system like Vex said), if something goes bad, we'll address it.

Overall, the forums are moving in the right direction as far as navigation is concerned, but yes, the colors have got to change.

I'm liking the color scheme, but long lines are still way to long. all I need is "max-width: 800px;" in there somewhere, so I don't have to hack the appearance with greasemonkey. thanks.

I just put an update in one of my progress threads and i can't figure out how to change the subtitle to say that it was recently updated. Has anyone figured that out?

I know that the color schemes are still being adjusted but it would really be helpful if the background color of the "quoted text" box could be adjusted sooner rather than later. It's kinda odd to respond and include a quote when the text can't be read... Thanks! ]
