Alright! Here's some more updates. In these pics, I've blackwashed the helmet, and painted flat black acrylic paint on the necessary areas. Tomorrow, I'm going to add some details, silver weathering. Hope you all like... Enjoy! :)

Thanks guys!

Me and my girlfriend went to our local motorcycle shop today to get a couple of gold visors. I'm nervous as crap to get the dremel saw on it.

With some advice from Jedistumpy and looking at Sean Bradley's tutorial, I'm sure I can do. Just don't want to mess up. Those visors are not cheap.

Aren't they at least about $40 each?

Yep, something like that. I paid $75 for two. The thing is, is that each one is for completely different helmets. They're both HJC visors... and they seem to overlap each other too.

I'm going to be working on the visor when I'm done painting. If I mess up cutting, I'll rip the visor out of my first helmet and use that. Thank god I only taped it in my first one, should it come to that.

Looking pretty dang gone good there pooper, Just take your time with your visor I'm sure you can do it... Watching this build has got me wanting to do the FS helm myself, Better yet I got called back to work for may 25th so I should be able to get my new printer before long, Hard to say whether I want my printer first or to see your helmet finished :p

Hey, thanks Wrathchild!

And nice to hear that you're getting a new printer. Can't make pep without it!
I also just looked at your thread. The helmet is looking good! If you want to switch to a FS model, that's cool too. Just let us know when you have updates!

As for my visors, I hope I can do it.

Well as for the visors I have faith in ya, I'm sure a lot of other forum members do too.

lol that helmet "looked" good, Actually for just being regular paper I think it turned out really good, Didn't warp at all, But... Turns out my fiberglassing skills are way under par so it's become a test helmet, Made another one too but I took it to show a buddy and when it was my the trunk of my car it ended up getting crushed by my battery charger (long story) Bonehead move but I was in a hurry. I will get some updates when I move forward but it'll be probably a while :p

@ soulless: Yeah, it comes in handy at hard times! :p

@ wrathchild: yikes! sorry to hear that... I'm sure your new helmet will look good. If you need advice for fiberglassing, I'd like to point out that soullesssin's fiberglassing tutorial and crackhead's fiberglassing video tutorial are great! It'll help you out alot.

Great work, Pooper, like the helm so far. and I do think the balckwash effect should be a bit darker, IMO, still, awesome work :D

Wouldn't adding a type of gold tint or film on the bubble visor work?

I don't know too much about the bubble visor thing... sorry. but thanks for the comments! :D

Thanks! I'm going to need it! I plan on using a little bit of gold as well... like MaulFett's armor. Also, if you look at the 12 inch Master Chief figure by McFarlene toys, you'll see a gold mist on the armor.

Dman, visors are expnesive hehe, goodluck on the visor and further painting :D

Thanks centerside! And on your opinion about using more blackwash, I did at one point, but it looked to dirty. Seeing this helmet in person is a big difference, and it looks about right. Thanks for your opinion though! :)

Wow, amazing. Have my babies, pooper! :p

So you fiberglassed first? I'm resining first, already got half a coat on it. :D

WTH?! LOL I don't think that's ever going to happen Seno!

But yeah, I find that fiberglassing first works better for me. Don't want to risk warping the helmet with too much resin ya know? And crap, have you looked outside today (around 4pm till uh... now)? Damn rain! Always holding us back to finish!
