Just for the sake of playing with scale I made this:

A 1/3 scale MK VI helmet. I may at some point make an entire 1/3 scale Masterchief but for now I'm content popping it on my cats head while she's sleeping :p

Probably gonna paint it when I get home from work tomorrow.

If I do make the rest of the suit I'll pose it in some awesome way and maybe auction it off at Otakon next year. I mean who wouldn't want a 2-1/2 foot tall Masterchief?

Wow, it seems like something that small would have been extremely difficult to pep, did you modify the file at all?

No, I just used the simplest MK VI file I could find but found myself making folds that I could barely see. Now I'm painting it. I'll post the finished product later. Oh and Cloviz, I did consider making armor for those dolls people are always carrying around at anime conventions but it turns out they are really creepy... so no go on that one :p

I painted it!

Master Chief Mini-me. He's exactly the same but 1/8th the size... and half the calories!

:D

That looks great! I showed this to a few co-workers and they all gave me that same response: " Ask him to take a picture of it on the cat!!"

So if possible could we see a pic of it on the cat? Lol.

Rex out.

My kitty has a fat head lol.

Hey TavernKnight, I just noticed you're also from Boston. Do you hit AB or PAX east? Me and my wife have an artist alley table at AB.

Woo... Go Boston. :)

I haven't but looking to make it to events around here this year. What's AB stand for. I probably know it but the acronym is slipping my mind.

Anime Boston, at the Hynes Convention Center. We have been going since 2004, usually in the cosplay contest or the masquerade but since last year we've had a table in the artist alley. I usually see one or two spartans each year but I got a bunch of people into this with me (and I'm making all their armor :p) so I hope to see more of the 405th there in the upcoming years.

I live in Brighton so Anime Boston's a few T rides away. Maybe I'll go this year and say hi/hang out with more 405s. I'm working on my first outfit now; I'm not sure if I can get all my done by early April but at least I have a goal date in mind.

I thinking riding on the train as a Spartan would be hilarious.

Nice. I hope I can get mine done and at least set it up ay our table. Come find us at the Laughing Reaper table I the artist alley.
