Awesome! I just love the look of the Mk II's. How tall is that sucker?

But yeah, that lineart you use for your painted/customized pics is nice and clean. I'd agree with that "taken right out of the manual" comment.

All I've got to show for Gundam stuff right now is a SD Mk II, lol.

Really got to get around to grabbing up both a 1/100 scale RX-79-G Ground Type and 1/100 scale Titans Mk II.

EDIT: The Blue Destiny Gundam is also another design I find appealing. Not surprising, as it has many of the same characteristics as the RX-79-G Ground Type. The Heavy and Full Armor Gundams are pretty kewl designs too, imho.
Well, since it's 1/100 scale, I'd assume about 18 cm tall. :p

Trust me, just scanning lineart leaves all kinds of dirty pixels. That translates to all kinds of nasty effects when you mess with colors and contrast levels. You have to clean up the art, actually drawing lines over all the original lines on a new layer. It's a time-consuming process that's hard to do, and hasn't proved to be worth it for me. If I had a better work ethic, I'd probably have a Strike and a Freedom MG, just so I could finally have the lineart for those buggers. Also, maybe, Hyaku Shiki and Unicorn. But those are just general wants.

Yeah, well, Blue Destiny is like ALEX to the -79[G]. Mmm. Newtype-y.

Seriously, though, I do suggest the MG -79[G] because it's easy to build, and really detailed for a model of its time. (10 years, this one!) And, the Mk II was time-consuming, but the level of detail, and amount of posability are very much worth it. That said, I would suggest getting the AEUG model, because it's easier to make your work show on it. Black paint doesn't show up well in the panel lines of a navy blue Gundam. I spent 8 hours panel-lining that Mk II. You can't see ANY of it.

On that note, those of you who build Gunpla, how do you do it? Do you just nip 'em off the sprues and snap 'em together, or do you paint them, or, what all do you do, and how do you do it?

Use Gunmetal grey on your panel lines When working on a Dark colored kit. Shows up really nice.

ME: I like to Snip them off, shave and sand the spruce nubs, then paint I f I feel like it. All my suits get panel lined no matter what. I've been working on kits for years. As seen here of half of my total collection.

No PGs in my collection, just don't think they're worth it really. MGs are just enough to spend on in my opinion.

You bought The O? $120 for a chunk of yellow plastic? You really shoulda gotten a PG instead.

Anyway, my collection consists of the following:
HG GAT-X105E Strike Noir
HG RX-79[G] Ez8 Gundam Ez8 (mm, see you got one of those. Very nice kit, yes?)
HG GN-005 Gundam Virtue

MG RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type
MG RX-78-5 Gundam G05
MG RX-178 Gundam MkII Titans Type
MG RGM-79[G] GM Sniper
MG RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type (To be modified to fix its damned knees)

RG RX-78-2 Gundam

PG GAT-X105 Strike
PG FX-550 Skygrasper

It'd be larger if I had more money and shelf space. Currently, I also have a bunch of Transformers, Zoids, papercraft, Halo action figures, Yamato VF-1s, Halo Reach Statue, and books on my shelves. I actually haven't even built GM Sniper yet because, while I could probably convince someone to give me money for paint, I don't have a place to put him!

Thinkin' my next purchase will be S. Matsunaga Ver2.0, and then, maybe, GM Kai.

Hell no I don't have the MG O! You think I'm insane?! lols

My Sazabi and O are both HGUC and they're as big as MG with inner Frames. The O I have cost 40$ and Took me a week to paint, every little thruster is hand painted.

Shin Matsu was fun, you're gonna love the detail. And best of all! NO little screws. I'm building my Zeta Plus A1 and taking a break from my armor, I was gettin a little obcessed with it. And my Ez8 is Scarred up for it's Final baught.

See, I never can tell with that bugger. It's borderline stupid :p

My Ez8's the only gunpla I've ever put stickers onto. (Metallics for cameras aside) Needed to give it the 81. He's standing, beam rifle primed, with his parachute pack on. He represents my biggest complaints against MG -79[G]. First off, his arms are more anime-accurate, in that the elbow guard is a part of the forearm. On the MG, it's a third piece, which made me all wtf. Second, the shield on HG Ez8 can rotate, but MG's is stuck in position. While I get the MG's got a more accurate and more stable connector, it's still a gimmick it should have had.

In other news, I picked up some gold, white, and grey paints today. Gold for little innards, and I'm gonna mix the white and grey to a good off-white for -79[G]. Problem is, I still don't have a compressor, and I don't have money to get the other paints I need, or the compressor for them. Also, I need some more materials for this guy.

I'm thinking about doing a Display with the Revised RX-79(G) 1/144 kit using Ez8's Parachute and Doing a "Drop" Display.
Parachutes out!

Ah all my Gundams are in storage :( I do miss my MG Kempfer, Aile Strike, and 1/100 MG EX-S.... god that thing was HUGE and fun to put together :D

I do have a couple Macross Frontier Valkyries though ;)

Much Love to the Gun Valkyries! I have a Zeta Plus A1 from the EX-S line series. Started it this week to take a break from armor.
Ah Gundam Brings so many people together.

Indeed it does and glad to see so many others love giant Robots too! I hope Japan makes actual functioning Gundam like robots before I die, haha I'd pilot one ;)

I was planning on buying one of the 1/72 Messiahs, but Gunpla took priority. While I love me some Macross, Gundam came to me first. :p

That reminds me, Jay, I need to get my hands on a MG Zeta Ver2.0 and an AEUG Mk.II.

There's a Revised 1/144 RX-79[G]? Unless you mean the Ground War kit I have yet to look at.

Hahahaha yeah, I understand that. I'd probably do the same thing, Macross got me first in my case ;) I like how Frontier's Valkryies are really just revamps of the SDF Macross designs :) The story is kinda like that too heheh.

I'm fond of Stardust memory, even though I want to slap... crap I forgot her name, she cries too much! I kind of got winded with Gundam after Seed, I started Destiny, but I just couldn't get into it as much as Seed. I still want my Pink Zaku though hahaha ;)

You're talking about Nina Purpleton.
I got the Pink Zaku Concert Version in an order Mishap. Seed Destiny Suits have alot of Expansion equipment packs on them.

Yes Nina, hahah god!

Yeah I missed the 1/60th version of the Strike Gundam that had all the weapon systems minus the Aile booster pack (forgive me if I get the models of the Gundam wrong it's been awhile).

I didn't like the ZAKU redux. It just seemed too... No Zaku... And not in the Ramba Ral sense. While I have the DVDs for Destiny, I didn't really enjoy it much, save some mindless action sequences, and some of the animation. I liked SEED better, but it was still kinda meh for me. I'm really, really die-hard UC.

That said, I'm getting ready to add some detail to PG Strike. Because, really, PG deserves it.

I love Macross, but Gundam just seemed to take precedence when I was choosing between them.

Oh, and if you want a pink Zaku, might I suggest one of these?

My Favorite suit of all time still stands! The MS-06-R series. Shin Matsunaga Custum!

Diggin' it, Jay. Gotta love the Zaku, and the R-series is the coolest of that genus.

While the gun thing looks out of place, in a few ways, it's a pretty cool addition. How'd you make that one?

IT's a Resin Kit By Neo-Grade. The chain is metal. IT's a 90mm Chain gun for Zaku's, Gouf's, and Dom's. Oh if only there was a Dom 2.0!

Very nice. I got GO5 for its massive gatling. Problem is, I cut the chain's wire strip too short and one of the links had to come off, and even then, it doesn't snap quite right into the gun, and, well, the whole assembly weighs too much for its wimpy, little hips. (Plus, G04 and G05 have no knee posability. I guess none of the space models do. Does S. Matsunaga?
