anyone cant wait.. but at the same time really can just cause it looks so awesome! e3 is the bombshell this year.

okej, i see one big very big guy on the poster, one slim looking teenager a sniper and a guy with a katana i presume.
And the middle one looks like a regular guy with ar.

Hmm strange. From right to left
Heavy Weapons Guy
Kelly
John (maybe, probably not)
Fred with his knife
Linda with the sniper

The heavy weapons dude makes me wonder whether Bungie is deviating from what was set in Fall of Reach which states that Samuel was a head taller than John and also the strongest, but he died in 2525.

Also, John was in orbit during the battle for reach so, who's the (important) guy in the middle?

I feel....unease.

I just have this fear that they will ignore or retcon the existing continuity and books for the sake of gameplay familiarity of the casual Xbox player who has not read any of the expanded universe fiction. We already have ODST ignoring the appearance of the Halo 2 marines and ODSTs in favor of having the more more familiar and popular Halo 3 style models, as well as both Halo Wars and the upcoming Halo Black comic very clearly ignoring the appearance of the Halo: CE Mark V in favor of something closer to the Halo 3 Mark VI, even though both of those titles take place before Halo 1, and should honestly be featuring Mark IV armor.

I don't know. It really seems as of late that Bungie is going the Lucas Film way of approving and releasing ancillary fiction that expands the backstory of the universe, but then later contradicts it. I love the Halo:CE Mark V, but, I get this bad feeling that we will be seeing Mark VIs on Reach, and the story and events of the Fall Of Reach book will be ignored and contradicted.

Even worse: SPARTAN designations that aren't possible, such as S-320 and S-259 being revealed in the cinematic. There were only 130 S-IIs to begin with.

remember closely 300 or so spartans were trained when they had their bio augments most of them didnt make it. it never said the ones with the numbers 1-130 were fine.. numbers can be changed around. reson is they already had their numbers why change them.

"A total of 75 children, approximately age six and selected for their specific genetic dispositions (that is, being as close to perfect as science could determine), were "recruited". They were replaced with congenitally defective flash-clones to cover the enlistment, and trained, primarily on and below the surface of Reach, by one Chief Petty Officer Mendez, arguably the best Drill Instructor in the Navy. Their family names, whatever they may have been, were stripped, purged from record, and forever replaced with a 3 digit designation. Their upbringing would be defined not only by gruelling physical routine, but by a comprehensive academic tutelage under Deja, a Class II AI created specifically for the SPARTAN II project."

Nothing says that these were in any numeric order, only that 75 were selected and given 3 digit call signs

exactly what i was getting at ben but heres what i just dug up. halowiki http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/SPARTAN-II_Program#Class_II spartan Nicole-458 was trapped in year 2004 read her story here http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Nicole-458

and on top of that maybe the spartans arent from mc117 it could be after with sartan 3's or some other crazy thing we can only speculate untill bungie releases more to the public on whats moveing our hearts towards these conclusions and love for these games...

me though ill play th games and im more interested in the scenery and the armor and weapons and story than the actuall gameplay.

hey guys it doesnt have to be blue team (johns team) it could be red team from halo wars for all we know and the only thing i didnt like from halo wars is their armor had regenerating shields wich we all know to be only for V and up but thats for gameplay and as for no marines in odst, from what i saw i think i saw one marine in the tower talking to the red and orange odst btw watch the trailers on your 360 theyre different

I'm excited for this to come out, but there are a couple things that come into my mind when I analyze this. You remember the game "Crackdown" (I think??), it came with the Halo 3 beta. Most people bought the game FOR the beta because the game was crap (or so I've heard). I just hope that this isn't bungie trying their hand at that marketing ploy for that reason. I'm kind of worried about ODST now :(
