Lookin' good. you're really putting in work on this one. BTW your dad(?!) has the great taste in calenders.

I agree that fibreglass can be a pain to work with, but it looks as if you tried to lay it in fairly large sheets. It's best to cut it into strips about 5-8 cm by 3-5 cm. This makes handling them a bit easier and you can poke it down into crevasses better in order to get rid of air bubbles.

I am not holding up mine as a perfect example, merely to show the results of my approach. Less resin and "tidier" edges. (The duct tape was added at a con for cushioning, the edge of the piece was cutting into my back).

I admire your work and determination on this, well done indeed!

Roadkiller, I actually Used about 11 small sheets of fiber glass to cover the shoulder. The thing is I think I got a cheep brand so it falling apart when I touch them, and that's why I'm getting such bad results ( all the fall of on the sides. Although there are no air bubbles that I can see as of right now!
I was talking with my dad today and he said that he will help me out when it comes to picking the right fiberglass.

Hahaha funny thing is a famous stripper visited a club here and my sister was there that night and got a signed picture from her! I would quote what she said but I think for the sake of everyone I'll keep my post PG. Anyways when my sister moved away she gave the poster to m step dad and he put it in the shed for a laugh.

also, I'm glad you like my build :]

Awww I was hoping to post the duct tape dummy thing. :) I use them for making my fursuits all the time. Im going to have to make a dummy for my epic Elite cosplay.

Loving the armor so far! very colorful. you've got the perfect body for it too :)

Another Update!

I actually bondoed one of the shoulders to night, just to get a feel for it. It didnt turn out to too bad, I mean it is only my first time using bondo so be gentle :)

Hope you guys enjoy :)

Nice progress! But in the section I quoted, I think the word you're looking for is "gentle" ;-)

This is going to be an amazing first suit. Awesome job so far.

This is why we are here, we are prop builders not English majors.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..... god love spell check.. It loves to make me out as a perv. I'm glad you noticed that because I never would have, my spelling is not A+ so spell check is usually my best friend..... but it had betrayed me. Lets just forget this ever happened....:rolleyes

That what happened? :)

Clifford is a nice dog, by the way. I'm usually more the cat type (thus the many lolcatz...), but the way he looks up at the camera is... cute.
Maybe you could build a little grunt costume for him when you're finished? Or take one of these dog harnesses, attach some kind of flexible "antenna" like thingy and put a styrofoam replica of Guilty Spark on top of that :)

Awesome it tooks me a day make only the rigth gaunlet of my odst armor and yours look so great that o think i can make mine even better :D

and yeah all of us come for the pictures the pep is a nice add lol, now talking seriusly how long did it took to you do all of that, did you print the pep files whit color or do you paint then after ???, nice work and pics :p

Edit:
Now i have to add something's when i posted the first part i just read the first page, now i see the experience you have gotten and it will be nice if : 1) you can give me advice 2) you can make option numbre 1 in spanish :p

great work, but still i must ask the pepa works do you use normal paper or cardstock?, and, how is better fiber glass or Bondo?

i for make the paper parts into fiber glass parts i think i just will use it cause forme is easier to get than bondo (until i know is a type of clay for cars or something like that and read it names in you post so... :p), nice work again and sorry my writing errors my englis sucks i know :p.

hey if you got time come to see my advances :D http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/30218-Jesn223-ODST-ARMOR

Clifford is no word of a lie my ... muffin man >.< hahaha Thats all I call him, or fattso. But Thats such a good Idea! I should try the Sparks thing. Altough Im not sure how happy he would be about having that thing stuck to him plus hes not a very nice dog when it comes to strangers. We rescued him, he was beaten in his home before us so he is an aggressive dog. Like he would easly attack someone if he didnt know them but I can like kiss him and hug him and pick at him all I want and he wont get mad... well unless I really get on his nerves and that only happens sometimes and he give me a little growl to let me know to leave him be haha.
But
If I could get away with the Sparks Idea or even the grunt one I would so do it ! Muffin man just needed to let me >.<

But I think more sanding on the shoulder can be better :) (If you want a perfect smooth shoulder)
I you want some battle damades, don't sand again :)

Bonoed? U2? JK, Great work on your build. Keep it up!

Hahaha I hate spelling.. its not the cats meow. But Thanks! I'm glad you like it!. More updates tomorrow.

As Of right now guys, We are having a storm and the winds are like 140 kph, and next to my little shed is a huge tree that looks like its going to fall anytime now thanks to Igor. So the storm is pretty much going to knock it down and if it falls its going right down on the shed so mom doesn't want me in there until the wind dies down, so I dont get made into a newfie pancake . So lets hope tomorrow will be nicer, If not I'll be out in the rain and wind fiber glassing my shoulder and half the robo arm. Plus I need to resin my two thigh pieces.
