Just following up, the armor and helmet remaster went out today! I'm super proud of the improvements made and think it will help a lot of folks out! Those that purchased the older version should get an update email in the coming hours with a new download link .

Can I just say, WOW. I only looked at just the Helmet files and they are spectacular. You really thought of everything. I was just about to do a printout of my modified previous version you had, but now I'll have to add all my modifications to this newest model. It is VERY nice. I LOVE the nice extra touch of providing the sizing slice. Very Very NICE!

Hey Draxes! I know I'm super late to this But after seeing this build I became inspired as I am trying to make the same set of armor. Just had a few questions, with mobility, and rigging. Because most of this is 3d printed do you find any parts clash together or restrict movement at all besides the belt piece? And rigging I don't even know where to start when setting up my armor as mine as little to no attachment points built into it. Im still very new so any advice or tips on this would mean the world to me and help SOOO much. Awesome build man by far one of the coolest chief armors I've seen built.

Hey Draxes! I know I'm super late to this But after seeing this build I became inspired as I am trying to make the same set of armor. Just had a few questions, with mobility, and rigging. I am actually pretty happy with my range of movement. If you read my tutorial I go over specific spots that I had to overcome. But if I were to give one specific advice to flexibility, make sure you digitally cut out as large as you can the arm holes in the chest armor. The Galatic Armory guys just rereleased updated files so they might have fixed all those issues. I hope so. I really don't know about the new files. I would HIGHLY recommend using the newer files because it seems they tried to fix a lot of issues. As for rigging, the only real rigging I have is attaching the biceps to my torso and attaching my thighs to my belt. Most of the other armor is just held in place with my clothing.

I am actually really jealous you will be using the new 3D files. It is probably going to be WAY easier than what I had to go through. Please share with us your progress. I'd love to see how it came out. I just reprinted my helmet using the new files and it was so enjoyable.

I am using the newer files and they have some attachment points on the armor that are super helpful, and the openings have a lot more clearance I believe, but trying to figure out how to rig it all is tough for me as a newbie. I supposes its part of the fun and I'll definitely figure it out! I'm thinking on using a harness system similar to yours, so I can attach some elastics and buckles and the keep the armor fitting snug without sliding. I would recommend getting a belt like this: Versatile Waist Belt Molle System Waist Pack Set Outdoor - Temu

instead of the climbing gear I used. Much cheaper and that is really all you need.

This is an incredible build! I found your build in Reddit before I even got my printer. Saved the thread and when I finally got my printer set up and going I used a lot of your ideas to get my build going! Luckily GA had updated their files before I got too far into my build so I was able to convert them, but I did use their boots bc I didn’t want covers. You did an awesome job documenting everything so much so that a total 100% newb like me was able to use it as a guide for my own build! So thank you so much for that!

I also had a question, what are you using for the ab wrap? Or have you figured anything out since posting for the ab wrap and joint parts?

Oh man, I am still trying to figure that out. I have created a custom 3D model of the ab and all the other soft parts to 3D print them in a flexible PLA...but it is SUPER difficult. I just watched a tiktok on how another Halo guy did it with his using Foam and I think I can use the techniques he used for my flexible PLA part.

But short answer is I just have a cool airsoft undershirt that looks just OK for the ab part. I'll make a post if I ever finish the undersuit in my flexible PLA. I do have a functioning flexible PLA neck piece that people really like and tha tworks well.

Thanks for answering that request. We don't want to short the creators of the 3D models. Otherwise they won't make more cool stuff.

I didn’t even know there was such a thing as flexible PLA lol. I was thinking of using Dragon Skin 10 fast, but the stuff expensive.

So that is v1 of my armor. I am now using the updated files from Galactic Armory and I made improved magnetic clasping system on the new chest piece. The new chest piece files are sooooooooo much better than their earlier version BUT it still doesnt include any mechanism for the front and back to clasp together.

Here is my solution and the custom STL I created for my armor scaled to me but it might not help everyone.

So you can see from this screenshot that I made the mechanism so that the large Magnetpro Neodymium Rectangular Magnets 45 lbs Force 1.57" x 0.53" x 0.20" can slide in to the mounting mechanism on the top clasp area. I 3D printed them separately and glued and screwed them in. You want to make sure the magnets on both sides make direct contact with each other. That is very important. Even though my system works...there HAS to be a better way I couldnt think of then this. It was super annoying to work out and even though it is waaaaaaaay easier than my first version it isnt perfect.

I think since everyone will print their armor at different scales I don't personally know a perfect tried and true way for these two to work. I have used super strong velcro, clasps, and all different types of magnets. I think magnets are the best solution. But remember, you REALLY need to have the magnets make direct contact on each other for them to really work.

When I take out my armor again I'll try and take some photos of the clasping mechanism installed.

I’m 100% going to print these today and try to incorporate them.

Currently I’m using those same neodymium magnets, but sideways and glued in with superglue and resin over the top.

It’s worked for the most part as long as I’m not reaching or trying to get my weapon off my back - then it pops and I have to pop it back on.

I was trying to figure out a way to use the buckles on top, but I think your way is better.

Question: with them facing each other - do yours pop off easily or do you find it keeps coming undone when you reach or move?
