ODST armor plan. First build

Hi, I’m planning on making ODST armor. It’ll be the first suit of armor I will ever create and I’m super excited! I have a rough idea on what I’m going for and what I want each armor piece to be made of.

Firefall helmet - 3D printed
Shoulder plates - 3D printed
Forearms - still deciding
Chest plate - foam
Thigh armor - foam
Knees & shins - foam
Boot/shoe armor - still deciding

I’m open to any ideas you guys might have about which material each part should be. I am also still deciding what color scheme the armor should be, I was thinking something like a grayish/blackish theme and maybe a light blue visor, I’m still not sure what color the visor should be. Like I said I’m all for your ideas if you guys might have any suggestions. Well, that about wraps up my little plan for the ODST armor.

Yeah me too! I was also thinking to have the sniper goggles magnetically attached to the helmet so they can be removable. It’s a shame that I’ll have to wait about 2 weeks to even begin the actual work since I’m busy with other things. But the longer I wait, the more I get excited for the final result and how it’s all gonna turn out.

I think you will love having the lower half made in foam for maneuvering around!

Welcome to the process of making armor! It’s a fickle thing but totally worth it in the end!

Using the customization system in halo infinite or other games to play around with color ideas can be really helpful depending on how much you have unlocked. Another thing I don't know If you've considered is the undersuit. The most common thing I've seen for ODSTs is black camo bdus or just black clothing. Good luck!

Also the website should also have suggested a number of 'similar threads' at the bottom of the page if you didn't notice that. It's pretty good at matching words in your title with matching terms in other threads.

Can’t wait to see a Firefall! My two cents, a lighter grey (maybe even camo) armor with purple visor would be sublime. It’ll be fun to see how you tackle the goggles too if you go that route.
