Reach ending scene/credits/etc. discussion *MAJOR SPOILERS*

I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign and enjoyed nearly every aspect of it.

UNSC AI sucked while the elites where (mostly) very intelligent.

My lone wolf mission kinda sucked because There was no one around and I saw the random barrels so naturally I walked up to them and beat them. WU-BAM cut to me throwing off my helmet, surrounded by elites. (they musta been invisible)

Also insofar as brutes in the campaign I never liked the brutes but was very happy that they were not nearly as good as the elites.

Also Also, on Kat's death just before that cut-scene (if I remember correctly) you see a large beam in the background a covenant excavation laser, and Kat reports the spike in radiation.

Also also al-oh nevermind

The legendary ending (or lack thereof) was disappointing but I heard someone say something about using all the skulls
My theory is not dying on Heroic or higher as there are avatar awards + achievements for doing that on several missions.

And back to Kats death it looked like a skirmisher with a NR to me.

That's my two cents

Kat's end was definitely the most shocking and sad. She just seemed so cool and bad@$$. And she didn't get what I would call a "good spartan death" like all the rest. I thought she deserved to go out with a bigger bang.

Yea Carters death was a total flop I thought he was gonna get out and help Emile and I before I saw the Scarab and even then I didnt expect him to ram teh ship head on into it, he was the leader, he deserved better

I want to know why Carter's shield wasn't on while he was in the Pelican in the cutting scene before mission start of the Pillar of Autumn (I mean, it's the only thing that saves Jorge and Noble 6 when they crash land before they shut off the covenant shield generator). He gets shot up bad, and would require a fair amount of medical attention which would be unlikely due to the lack of personnel on the ground at that stage. So he does what he believes to be the "noble-ist" thing to do and that is to save his fellow teammates to make sure they achieve the objective and deliver Cortana. He does act like a true leader, by example :)

Finaly! I thought the same thing!

Gruntkiller, as far as finding Master Chief, its a easter egg on the Pillar of Autumn level, in the cut scene when the pelican that Keys is in lands in the hangar, move the left stick right and he should be there.

True I guess I kinda forgot that part, so he did die honourably...that makes me happy, not that he died but for the reason

Class, please open your Halo Reach Legendary Edtion Journal to the entry of November 7, 2549

Stop. Re-read that entry date. 11/7/49. Wait wait wait. 11/7? 117? John-117? Yes.

November 7 abreviated in date format is 11/7, most likely meaning 117, or John-117.

2549? Simple. 2+5=7. 7 is Bungie's favorite number. Also, the square root of 49 is 7. Another 7 refrence.

Right there, just by looking at the date, this page in Dr. Hansleys journal MUST be signifigant. Let's read the entry:

"Specimens H-2, -3, and -4 remain in cryogenic suspension. I have other, future plans for them as technology evolves.

The H-1 specimen's neural pattern has been transferred and authnticated to AI matrix strata.

Initiation sequence completed within normal quantum flux tolerances.

Must conceal my unease. She has no idea I've planted a viral termination code in her kernel. (Or she does...and already isolated and bypassed it, having the tact not to mention it to me.)

She calls herself "Cortana."

She spoke her first words (in Italian):
"When the game is over, the king and pawn go into the same box." "

Examine this passage:
"Specimens H-2, -3, and -4 remain in cryogenic suspension. I have other, future plans for them as technology evolves."

That certianly seems to me to be a refrence to the Halo games.....including a Halo 4? Perhaps it just means Halo 3: ODST. Who knows. It just seems too signifigant to pay no mind to this passage.

It just seems to me that this is Bungie telling us that either they will/are in the process of re-making the Halo games, or at least the parts about John-117.

I am posting this on B.net for further discussion.

That is a very biased statement. True or not, it needs to be removed asap. Who would post something like that?

ok, sorry didn't see it that way when i posted, i was just relying on a major source of halo information for a good answer, i didn't even think about emp from a nuke, sorry

Don't own xBOx, Don't own Reach. DO own pc. DO have Youtube account. I a walkthrough of the final mission and 'mission 11'. all I have to say is...Damn Carter why you gotta go out like that? I know that Jorge and Catherine got greased (in dramatic fashion I'm sure) Emile was badass to the end. Noble six, equally badass. I mean they have been hammering home the fact that "from the beginning you know how it ends" since they first announced the game but WOW. 200 million beings burned to cinders including the Spartans you invested X amount of hours in.

However it was comforting to see Jacob Keyes in his non-Floodgurgated form. Also the familair way he spoke of Dr. Halsey was a nice touch.

Noble Team indeed.
Remember Reach

I got to thinking about this last night, and I'm pretty sure I know exactly what she's talking about. When "smart" AIs are created from the brain of a person, the original brain is destroyed in the scanning process. So for Halsey, a clone was made (which had all of her memories, too) and Cortana was made from the scan of Halsey's clone. In the diary, H-1 is the term given to the clone that Cortana was made from. . . which means that H-2, H-3, and H-4 are additional clones of Halsey. I'll let you guys think that over and debate what that could mean to the Halo storyline. . .

I wish I knew more about the Halo universe to post a fully informed theory about what happens to H-2, 3 and 4. Given my limited information all I can sumise is that Cortana yetlives after being tainted by the Gravemind and going rampant in Halo 3?.

GAHH I'm so stupit!

on the topic of Miranda Keyes Halsey states in one of her entries in the journal that: -"Miranda changed her name legally to impress him"....him being Jacob Keyes

-"should have tried to dissuade her"..Miranda going to the OCS on Luna and entering the service of the navy

-something about Miranda not replying to Halsey's mail to her anymore

-originally gonna go to the promotion ceremony

On to J. Keyes:

-divorced

-ex-wive's name was Catherine

-sister's name was catherine

Miranda:

-daughter of Dr. Catherine-E.-Halsey and Cpt. Jacob Keyes

part of my info was from the novels, most of it from the diary, some mentioned so many times they've been said to the death.

Good find, i started to read the journal but am only on the orion project. As far as a Halo 4, 343 is making it, which i hope will be good considering that 343 is a branch of bungie.

343 is a branch of Microsoft. Its closest link to Bungie is Frank O'Connor, the steward of the Halo bible.

Good enough for me. Now if they could only get it in gear and figure out what's canon and what's not, make that movie they've been talking about since forever, put out a commercial line of armor, get a Saturday night CGI weekly Halo series on Adult Swim, sell replica licensed Halo style airsoft guns, establish a Halo themed amusment park and bring Halo 3, ODST, and Reach to the PC and I'm IN!

Who am I kiddin' I'm already in

The only thing I would add is that Jeep is licensed to mass produce Warthogs. I don't care that they can't have those turrets on them. They could make the troop transport version or the yellow civie edition was on the billboard on that one Halo 2 map. Or just a regular hog minus the turret.

Why Jeep? Because they're good off-roaders. And there's already a CoD Black Ops edition, this can't be that much of a stretch. . .
