No idea how I kept missing this, but awesome job on everything.

Thorn had answered this about your question with bubbles and the Smooth On 321, but I found that I had the same issue when I used it. I used the 321 exclusively on my son's build and I think that it is just a characteristic of the product when you brush it on. I did mix it slowly, but it only partially helped. I had lots of bubbles all over his armor in places. When I was just about done hardening everything, I found that if I mixed really small batches and was done about two minutes before the pot life expired, that most bubbles were tiny if I had any at all. The worst places where would be where any of it may have pooled. I know that this is a day late a dollar short, but in the event you move on to something else and are going to use it, maybe it can help.

Again, great job. Sorry I missed this thread so many times.

You're armor looked great up close it was nice to finely meet a few people from the 405th this weekend at Youmacon. I should have some pic's for you a little later today to post up here.

turned out great man, how does the smooth cast work? Just want to know whats a good amount to use to keep the armor sturdy.

On the stuff I did, I put two light coats on the outside and heavily saturated the fiberglass cloth on the inside. It's hard and has held up to my 9 year old so far with about 10 -12 hours of wear and play time. LOL! I did have a couple places on the torso that had to be rondoed to give it more strength. But that was only on the lower rungs that go under his arms where they met up to the back piece, because they were wiggling around. I think the most likely reason I had to do this though was because of the way I have to put it on him and I didn't put anything else there as a support. Hope this helps.

Youmacon was awesome. We had a Halo photo-shoot, Pictures turn out great. Well I drop my Helmet the night before the photo-shoot. It crack pretty bad, at least the visor didn't crack. (i brought my tools just in case to the con, just in case if something broke)I wasn't expecting my helmet to break. I took off my helmet to talk to people, since it was hard for them to hear me. It slip from my hand. It drop 2-3 feet(around my thigh piece area) I did a quick fix, you can hardly notice the crack in the photos.

It was fun hanging out with the 405th members, I even learn a few things. Hopefully i will see them next year for Youmacon.

Whoot Youmacon 2013..... We will all have to get together for another shoot. :D
I can't wait to see what you do with your build next. :cool

Sorry to hear about the damage to the helmet. I couldn't even tell in the photos. So good fix. Can't wait to see those mods and add ons.

I think i have a problem. I want to start another project when i didn't finished the last one. I should make a goal list to keep on track.( I always get distracted from time to time)
Goals: 1st: Finished M6 Socom,2nd: Finished AR, 3rd: Fix Helmet, 4th:Work on ODST boots, 5th Get holsters for weapons. 6th: Get distracted again and buy M7 Silent SMG and then work on it. 7th Make ODST Flag
?: Work on New ODST forearms
?: Work on AL armor from Fullmetal Alchemist
?:Work on RVB: Sharkface, War-machine kit
I been lazy and distracted(trying work on everything, I just need to focus one thing at a time)
1:M6 Socom (Tactonyx kit). I need to fill the holes in the Attachment part. I put everything together making sure all the parts move and not catching or getting stuck. Notice in the tutorial of the M6 have magnets for the safety(didn't get any,but i think ill manage without it)I love the details in this kit

And I just notice My Infantryman status, hopefully I will get back in gear and really finished 1-5 by Jafax.

I've got one of those magnum kits from Benjamin also. Love it. I noticed some things in his tut weren't in the kit and asked him about it. He said that he needed to update his tut, because there were a lot of things that were used in the original design that weren't really necessary. I haven't put my Magnum kit together yet. It's just lying in wait. LOL! I figured armor first. . . weapons second.

Shoulder piece looks good. Oh and Congrats on being an Infantryman now.

Your stuff looks real nice. I was wondering what files you were using for the foam armor?
Thanks, I am using Hugh's files for Odst parts, including the foam parts

Thanks. Benjamin make amazing kits, I'm am already tempted To buy another kit, and commission one.(I need to watch my spending habits)

Forgot to post AR pics. I got the AR and electronics kit on ebay. Anyways i been digging out the foam, to make room for the electronics. Need to make/find a trigger for it. I might have to replace the sound board batteries since some of the sound cut off, All the other functions work. Already replace the main power batteries. (the electronics kit did work when i got it) Almost finished drilling out ammo counter housing. My uncle agree to help me to install the electronics, which is good. I just need to finished the prep work on the AR. That my update on my AR.

That AR looks like it's going to be sweet with the kit and everything in it when you're able to get it all finished up. Keep up the good work.

Wow, thats a bad@$$ Odst! Im really diggin the fresh-out-of-the-armor look instead of the usually battle damage everyone does. I also saw that same AR on ebay, wonder if the seller is a member here. I thought of buying one, but it seemed WAY overpriced (no offense to the seller, if you're a member here. It's a beautiful cast, but I personally thought it was priced at $100 more than it's worth.). And a question, where didi you get the electronics kit, and how much was it? Is it the thatdecade kit?

Thanks, Funny you should mention that. I saw the exact same AR on the forum(forgot what thread) I went to check it out on ebay, and I really wanted a reach AR at the time. Since i didn't see anyone selling one on the forum, so i bought it. I also got the electronics kit from the same guy. Its great cast, but i do agree with you kind of pricey. (looking back on it now, if halo 4 would have came out sooner and I would have know of Tactonyx. I would had put the money towards a commission of the UNSC SAW) I got this AR back in August, pretty much a birthday gift for myself. So i have little to no regret with this purchase.

I got one of the Tactonyx pistols for my GF ODST, and just finished putting it together, which sadly to say I wasn't really all that impressed once I got it all unpacked and laid out. There was alot of flash and air bubbles in the small and detailed areas, especially the tac light like on yours Satsugai. I also had many parts start breaking and were warped. The rail guides on the upper and lower receivers broke quickly, the chamber and rollers pins and rockers were filled with air bubbles and flash as well, so once I cleaned them up I could not get any of the pieces to interact (the working/moving action between the trigger and slide) correctly. So we opted into just making it static except for the magazine. We put a magnet in the mag and a metal plate in the grip for the load and unload as the only moving piece. We added a real working tac light to the bottom attachment with a push button, so atleast there is something cool, but here is a pic of our finished product:

Satsugai, I am really ready to see your finished product on the ODST Automag, everything else has turned out superbly man!
