thinking about starting over

Personally I don't have the patience to use contact cement. You have to wait like 5 minutes before gluing each piece! CA glue is so much faster. What do you use indigoD0g?
I use contact cement for each piece, and reinforce the back of high stress seams with a small bead of hot glue on the inside. I live in an area that is pretty warm and dry all summer, so my contact cement dries within 2-3 minutes. During that time, I usually tend to other pieces that have already dried. It's a process, but if you organize your time right, it won't take all day for the glue to dry.

Best advice I can give is just keep on going. You will naturally get better over time with practice.
Maybe try a little less glue per join to avoid seams overflowing.
I used way too much glue on my first foam build and had similar issues.

It's turning out good overall though! :D

ok wait for the visor i bought off Etsy to use me to help finish building the helmet. so i'm starting on the chest. i got the idea to use parachute buckles to have it able to come apart for easy getting it on. plan A was to have them inside the armor but i moved to outside so i was going to use a back pack or jet pack to his them but i looked up the odst back pack i dow that the armor has straps on it so i can just put them on and i would still be good. and this plan allows me to get my head to fit without cutting. is this something that others have done before
and i don't have a camera use i'm using my ipod

so sealing the foam any ideas i could so i was planing on using wood glue but i heard people using plasti dip. you have a fav way of sealing
You should look into gap filling and sanding seams flush before moving onto adding anything further to the helmet. If you have a rotary tool it'll help immensely but even a simple block with sandpaper will help clean up seams that are proud on either side.

i was planing on using add ons to cover them but i used some scape foam to fill some the gaps not going to lie not my best. the 2nd pic is a rough(153% on rough) of what i was planing to do with the side gaps com on the right light on the left
ps Using contact cement to seal EVA foam as anyone done that
