Looking good so far Braytak! Yeah, you can spray the helmet with gray primer so that you'll have a uniform color. Then you can see the imperfections. The chest looks a tad big but then again it's not completely assembled yet so I'll wait and see. Other than that, your pep work looks great and keep up the good work bro!

the chest pep work looks fairly clean. all these people doing reach builds makes me wanna start my own but not til my odst is done. nice job

and i can bondo over the primer?, if the chest is i will either modd the side pieces so its a tighter fit or start over with foam.

Yeah, you can bondo over the primer again after sanding until you get your desired results. Then repeat as necessary. I was thinking the same thing about your chest, just adjust the length of the sides and you're probably good to go.

i am tempted to do a foam chest because to me it seems like alot less work becuase you dont have to resin or bondo or really even sand and it looks just as good if not better, i think once there are more methods of working with foam it might just take over and pepakura just might be used for traceing .

so after sanding heres what i got so far . work is gonna stop on it till friday until i can get back to the shop at work but i will keep going with the chest and other peps

Yeah, looking at it again, it looks like that's the right size if you're going for that super hero physique that the Spartans have...on a normal person it may have to be a bit smaller, but everything except the sides seems to be the right size. Hope you get it figured out.

not much of a update but its something . not sure if i a going to waste time on fixing the chest or just redo it in foam

Well this is just my two cents, I love the helmet and would like to know how you scaled it. The chest, since it is paper(someone correct me if i'm wrong) couldnt you just splice at the bottom and bring the pieces together? just curious? I mean after hardening it you have to cut it anyway and strap right? At the bottom rib sections, remove a piece from both sides to bring the bottom back together and it should fit? Eh just an idea i'd hat to see great work thrown away because of a minor resize. :)

Yea I had the same thought to fix the chest but after this piece I think foam will be my new medium , as far as the helmet from the top of my head to my chin was 10 inches and then I added a inch and a half to two inches fir padding and what not

Nice work so far braytak!! Something you can do with Bondo that can make the sanding easier is to shape it with a surform when it gets to the hardness of cheddar cheese; you can still get it pretty smooth that way, then fill with a thin coat once fully hardened. It can really save on the sanding on thicker sections. The most toxic thing with Bondo is the dust kicked up in the sanding. Many people develope a sensitivity to it much like some hardwoods when woodworking. Good luck on the build!
