Halo Ce remake confirmed

Well if CE is remade by 343 it will make or break them imo.
I may get it and if I think it's awesome I'll get Halo 4, but otherwise I'm kinda meh on 343.
Using the reach engine would be neato as long as it's done right.

This will great IF they do only:

1) Upgrade the graphics.
2) Allow for energy sword and cannon carry.
3) Develop it for PC as well as xBox 360
3a) Increase the PoV on PC as well. To something like 85 like it should.

That means we get to see Master Chief with updated Mark V armor! I hope they're just replacing the graphics and engine, and keeping the storyline and voice acting the same. We all learned from Legends that MC isn't MC without Steve Downes. On another note, does that mean they'll bring back the old Halo CE multiplayer maps??? 8D I loved those!

I'd think they would be aiming for a sequal to reach rather then a remake. That would be EPIC if they brought back the halo 1 maps!

If the rumor is true, and it is a remake, I would hope for simply updating the graphics, and retconning some of the issues generated in the dialogue. (eg: tertiary does not come before secondary / OF COURSE this cave isn't natural)

That game was wayy too awesome to limit to 4 people on a local match. Of course that's barring system-link and PC LAN, but 360 btbs would be dooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOpe.

I'm sorry guys. As much as I would like to relive Halo CE I suspect that this will be a bid for 343 to rake in beaucoup bucks, which may spell doom for any type of meaningful storytelling. Halo will NEVER be a COD type shoot-em up, but there's nothing wrong with the Haloverse or MC's story as it stands. They could easily do Halo REACH: Jun's Revenge. They could show how his escort mission to Castle base went, and at the same time put any rumours about Halsey to rest. Shoot I'll wait for a new storyline while they port all the existing Halo titles to PC (god, I can only hope)

Why go backward when they could go...forward?...ummm, wait. What?! YOU know what I mean. Why you ask? A CE remake on the heels of REACH would be a shoo-in to attract for all the new players and a certain draw for all the nostalgia buffs. It's a safe bet to clock quadrillions.

the problem is that it wont be made. its going to be vapor for a few more months and if they did it and changed something the fans would hate them for straying from the gospel, but heres the punchline everybody, as much as the fans say they just want a graphical overhaul they would bash microsoft for not being creative when it was 'same **** different disk' and there in squats the toad, if they do it the players wont be happy and if they don't they wont shut up about doing it themselves. i love halo:ce, but its a good time to let the trilogy be and move on

what they want is the butcher bay treatment and they wont get it.

this is awesome news, if its real, but i dunno i'm kinda iffy since its not being made by bungie, i've never been a fan of games being made by one company for so long then when they quit someone else picks up the ball and continues onward which normally fails since they want to add their own story to it or change things when everything is perfect how it is, now if they keep everything the same just making it prettier and better looking w/o changing the story or to much on the levels i would dump my girlfriend for it in a heartbeat lol

Halo: CE for the PC is still my favorite halo game, Halo 3: ODST comes awfully close. The only thing I don't like about CE is the recycled enviroments. But if they're gonna stick with the orignal, oh well. But a graphics overhaul and maybe adding ALL of the weapons in the Halo franchise in multiplayer, that would be boss. Nothing like splasering someone on Death Island
Not only did CE start the Halo franchise, it also had the best atmosphere, closely followed by Halo 3 ODST and Reach. Even The Flood was something terrible to behold, until Halo 2 & 3 came out. Theres nothing like the feeling of being marooned on an alien artifact, slowly being picked off by zelous aliens, one at a time... Good Times...

I agree. Halo CE had the best feel to it I think. Cause it has a little of everything in one game. I think Having the exact same game but with todays graphics would be perfect

You peeps remember maxpain 3? Ya over a couple of million people was OOBER excited to see this coming. Then they never released it. I was very surprised people still bought games from rockstar because of that. But yet again that's rockstar not the new bungie, but I still don't trust these guys until they bust a good move. Like I said in the beginning of the thread, if this is fake, I.....will.....be......pist.

I prob won't buy it- the only way I'd be interested is if it were STRICTLY a graphics update, and even then I'd just be paying 60 bucks for a game I already own and know how it goes... the fun of a new Halo game for me was being in awe of the new environments and story. Just kinda seems like a way to get money IMO. And if they do something stupid like add bloom and AA's ugh... haha /vent

I think it will be a re-imagining, like the 2 Hulk movies. As with the Pillar of Autumn, 343 will try to 'update' CE to a REACH look thinking it's what the people want, but in reality they will throw off canon and rewrite Halo history(past). That's the only way they can make it marketable. Otherwise you have as was stated above, same stuff different disk. Without scrapping Halo CE's original story there's no way to get people to buy it en masse. So yeah I think they should just leave it alone. On the other hand, This remake sold as a DLC will be HUGELY popular and prove whether or not 343 is good enough to carry Bungie's torch.

Personally, I'm glad the graphics of CE were/are so crappy. I would never have played it otherwise, because I absolutely HATE zombie games and everything related. And let's face it: The Flood are nothing but sophisticated space-zombies.

What I could imagine very well is a remake, same story, better graphics, but from a different perspective. Maybe we could play as an ODST, or as a Marine. They could even turn it into a flight simulator and let us play Foehammer
