Other ways to attach your hand plate to your glove

Alright everyone, I need your help to brainstorm ways to attach my hand plates to my gloves. I would use Velcro except for two reasons. First I filled them with rondo so I would have a surface to attach the Velcro and now they may be too heavy. Second, I've heard how they tend to fall off due to high-fives. So I think we should come up with other ways to do this, not just to help me but for everyone else who wants to avoid having their hand plates fall off.

Hot glue or Cement glue. Best I can give. Unless you want them detachable. If you want them detachable, then i'd go with earth magnets.

An idea I had was a combination of Velcro and those snap buttons. That way they can be removed and it's stronger then just the Velcro.

industrial strength velcroe and glue it to the glove and handplate with epoxy glue. I did the same method as you by filling the handplates with rondo. Didn't bother me any, and my handplates stayed with me the whole night after about 200 high fives

I use velcro for my snowtrooper handplates. I got my Velcro from a Joannes fabric store. I've yet to have any issue with them coming off after over 100 troops. Trust me that you want to make them removable, you'll be glad that you will be able to wash them

yeah, definatly hot glue.... i got those half finger gloves from walmart that you find in the socks area of the store.... wells lamont makes them.

Speaking from a seamstress point of view, the best way I can think of is get some clasps (small metal ones). Take two and put a tiny dab of rondo on your armor's underside and place the clasps there while it hardens. (This would have been best while it was originally setting, but oh well). Now, all you have to do is hand-sew the other side of the clasp to your gloves. If you don't place them right on your gloves, you can just de-stitch them and adjust it.

Clasps look like this: 8<] [>8

Vua-lah. detachable hand plates that won't come off easily.

yeah and to make sure you put the clasps in teh right place, instead of stitching with is time consuming. connect the clasps onto the ones already glued onto your hand plate then put hot glue onto the clasps not connected and press down onto your glove and boom! perfect positioning :D

Here is what I have done...

Simple and durable. I put these elastic bands on these handplates over two years ago, and they're still holding strong.
